Still Alive!

Well I think it's pretty obvious that it's been a weird year on all fronts for all of us. 2020 kicked my butt in so many ways and I struggled to read let alone to actually blog. It was a year of multiple family members spending time in hospital and with two of them needing follow up surgeries 2021 is set to be pretty stressful too.

I have to be grateful that everyone I love has survived until this point though. My parents are still shielding but have had their first Covid vaccine now, my sister in law survived covid when 6 months pregnant and my new nephew is doing well according to all of his scans and due to put in an appearance sometime in the next couple of weeks. I have no idea when I'll be able to meet him since I've not seen anyone but my parents since last August but I know our family has been very lucky in the grand scheme of things.

I owe a lot of reviews to authors and publicists and I'm very sorry that things have been so quiet around here for such a long time. Most things I read last year have been totally lost to my memory and I definitely feel like I was walking around in a fog for a good while there but I definitely feel like I'm starting to come out of the other side now. I'm going to be honest and say it'll probably take me a long time to catch up on reviews or even to get back into the swing of blogging more regularly but I'm going to try and start posting again over the next few weeks. The longer I've put off coming back the harder it's been so I've got to start somewhere!

I hope that all of my followers (if any of you are still here!) are doing okay and I hope you'll forgive me for the long absence and bear with me while I get back on track. I think it did me good to take a long blogging break, it's the first proper one I've had in a long while and I have missed it so lets see what 2021 has in store!

    1. I just wrote out a longer comment only for my computer to eat it LOL. I'm sorry you've been struggling with long covid and hope that you're starting to make a full recovery now! How are the rest of your family? Fingers crossed nobody else is still sick. My sister-in-law was the only one with Covid symptoms and narrowly avoided being hospitalised but was very sick for a couple of weeks there. We assume that my brother and nephews all had covid then too, they all isolated like they had it, but luckily none of them had any symptoms at all. The newest edition to the family has arrived safely and doesn't seem to have any side effects so that's good news!

I don't think I've read The Throne Witches series, I'll have a look on Goodreads to see if I can find it but the name isn't ringing any bells. Is it good?

I hope you and your family are all doing okay now xxx

    2. Hey lovely, I am glad you are doing well and I love seeing your new reviews coming in. We have similar tastes. I am still struggling with the long covid, but getting there. The rest are fine. Bless, i hope your sister in law is doing ok. It's strange how it affects some differently than others. Thorne witches helped me back reading when I had little concentration. Light, fun with some raunchiness, but mostly an easy read. Hugs xxx

    3. I'm so sorry you've been struggling for so long with long covid Susan, it sucks that people still aren't really taking covid seriously but I'm relived to be fully vaccinated now & hope you are too. I'll feel much better when my nephews can be too though and thats not likely to be for a while. My SIL is doing great now thanks, she was really rough for a couple of weeks but thankfully made a full recovery fairly quickly really. I hope your symptoms have started to ease off now and you're soon back to your normal self.

I checked and he first Thorne Witches book is free so it's on my to read mountain. Not sure when I'll get to it as I still seem to be doing far more rereading than picking up new books this year but I'm sure I'll enjoy it when I do get around to it LOL. I hope you're all well xxx
