Review:
Vampire Fight Club is a novella set in Larissa Ione's Demonica world that was initially published in the Supernatural anthology and is now available as a separate ebook. I'm a huge fan of this series but had somehow managed to miss this story so I'm really pleased I discovered it now. Obviously the novellas in this series focus heavily on the romance and because there is less page time there isn't usually a huge side plot going on but Larissa always finds a pretty good balance between developing the character's relationships and creating some kind of external tension too.
Lena is living on borrowed time but before she dies she is determined to find out how her brother died and make someone pay for it. She has taken time off from her job at Underworld General to go undercover at Thirst, a popular vampire club that may also have links to a secret underground fight club. Nathan is a rare vampire with the ability to daywalk, he started working at Thirst looking for vengeance but years of following the enemy's orders have left him completely hollow and longing for death. Lena is like a breath of fresh air and meeting her convinces Nathan that life might be worth living after all but first they need to work together to bring down the fight club once and for all and that puts them at odds with a dangerous enemy.
I love Larissa Ione's writing and thoroughly enjoyed Vampire Fight Club. Lena and Nathan were both great characters who have been through a lot but together they are able to find something positive to strive towards. Their romance was enjoyable and they had brilliant chemistry too. It was great to get the chance to see some familiar faces at Underground General, it reminded me how much I loved the early books in this series and made me think it's probably time for a reread!

Review:
Please note that this review will contain spoilers for previous books in the series so look away now if you haven't read Rogue Rider! I absolutely love the Demonica and Lords of Deliverance books but although each book focuses on a different couple the stories are very intertwined and I think it is essential to read the series in order so you can follow what is happening in the wider world. This is definitely one of my favourite paranormal romance series though so I'd highly recommend giving it a try.
After the shocking revelations in the last book I couldn't wait to pick up Reaver and once I started reading I absolutely devoured it. This series really does get better and better with every book and once again Larissa Ione smashed it. Reaver had everything I hoped for - fantastic romance, super hot sex, action, danger, shocking plot twists and superb world building that introduces us to some fab new characters while still giving us a chance to catch up with some of our old favourites.
When I first found out that Harvester was going to be Reaver's heroine I wasn't convinced that I'd enjoy the story but that was before the revelations in Rogue Rider. How can you not root for a heroine who gave up as much as she did to prevent the end of the world? Yes she has done horrific things as part of her goal to infiltrate hell but she did it with the goal of protecting the Horsemen and preventing the apocalypse. One of the things that I love so much about this series is how the line between good and evil is so blurred. Nothing is black and white so time and time again we have seen "evil" characters do something wonderful and "good" characters who are anything but pleasant. There is a particular archangel in this book that I damn well wanted to punch because he was so nasty!
So anyway, we know that Harvester is an angel who chose to fall so that she could be a spy for heaven, she knew exactly what it would cost her if she was ever discovered and it was a risk she was prepared to take. That doesn't mean she's enjoying the torture though, she is suffering so badly that all she wants to do is die but that isn't an option for her. When Reaver goes to hell to attempt a rescue mission he does it against explicit orders from heaven, they can't risk hell being able to prove that Harvester was a spy or it will start the war to end all wars, one which earth will once again be slap bang in the middle of. Having just averted one apocalypse they aren't keen on starting another but Reaver can't leave Harvest to her fate knowing what she went through for his children. Reaver and Harvester have a much deeper and more complicated history than I could have imagined, I'm not going to go into details but trust me Larissa Ione will astound you with revelation after revelation and I'm sure you'll be as shocked as I was by some of them. It was absolutely fantastic to see this couple start to figure things out and get things back on track but there is just so much going against them - how can a relationship between one of the fallen and an angel ever work? You'll just have to read the book if you want to find out but buckle up and hold on tight because it's one hell of a roller coaster.
I loved the developments in the rest of the Demonica world too. We get to catch up with not just the Horsemen but also the demons from the earlier books and it was great to see how everyone is getting on now. We are also introduced to the next hero Revenant and going by the banter between him and the woman who I strongly suspect will be his heroine I'm going to LOVE his book too. I just can't get enough of these books and I wish we didn't have to wait so long for Revenant to be published!

Review:
When Jillian finds Reseph naked and freezing in the middle of a blizzard she does what anybody would do and rescues him. When he finally regains consciousness she realises he has no memory of who he is or where he came from - he only knows his name. As Jillian helps Reseph try to regain his memory they form a connection and start to fall in love but can their relationship survive when Reseph remembers the things that he did as Pestilence? Can Reseph's family forgive him for the pain he caused them? Most importantly can Reseph forgive himself?
As a huge fan of Larissa Ione and both her Demonica and Lords of Deliverance series I'm really not sure why I put off reading Rogue Rider for such a long time. I think I was a bit nervous that I wouldn't be able to forgive Reseph for the horrific things he did when he was Pestilence and I guess I just didn't want to be disappointed. Thankfully I finally got over my nerves and picked it up because I have to admit it was one of my favourite books in the series. I should have known that Larissa Ione could pull off Reseph's redemption and I promise I'll never doubt her again!
I have to tell you I was surprised at how quickly I grew to like Reseph, I wasn't sure I'd ever forgive him for his previous actions so didn't really expect to fall for him at all. I think that the way Larrisa Ione handled his memory loss made it much easier for us to accept him again. He doesn't remember what happened to him but deep down he suspects that he wasn't a nice guy and has done things he should be ashamed of. He never feels that he is quite worthy of Jillian but that doesn't mean he isn't going to try and win her heart anyway. I'd forgotten how much fun Reseph was at the beginning of the series before his seal broke and he became Pestilence. He was the life and soul of any party and loved to fill his house with music and laughter. Yes, he definitely liked to spend time with beautiful women but more than anything he loved his brothers and sister. The Reseph that we meet now is very different to the one we used to know though, he is much more serious and thoughtful, he genuinely cares about Jillian and wants the best for her even if that means he has to walk away from her so she can have the future she deserves. I actually really enjoyed getting to know the new Reseph, he still has a fun side to him and the way he chases after Jillian was hilarious but he is a lot less shallow than he used to be and his feelings run much deeper too. I would have found it impossible to resist his charms so I'm not surprised Jillian gave in to her attraction even though she was wary of getting hurt again.
Jillian was a brilliant character and perfect for Reseph. She went though a terrible ordeal when she was attacked by demons but she is a survivor. She has cut herself off from the world somewhat but Reseph reminds her what it is like to live and once she starts to come out of her shell again she is a fierce warrior who will protect the people she cares about. I loved the fact that she could and did stand up for herself, she was even willing to face down the other horsemen on Reseph's behalf which took some guts. It is hard for her when Reseph remembers his past and she finds out about all the horrific things he has done but she is able to look past that and see him as the man he is now which is something I don't think many people would be strong enough to do. My heart absolutely broke for Reseph when his memory returned, it was so hard to see him suffering for Pestilence's actions and to see how the family he loved more than anything were pushing him away. I could understand their reluctance to trust him but that didn't make it any less painful to watch. Seeing him claw his way back from utter despair and slowly start to rebuild his relationships was fantastic though. Sure, there is still a long way to go before anyone forgets his past but he's come a long way and I respect him a lot for that.
As much as I loved the romance in Rogue Rider I was also engrossed by the developments in the rest of the world. There are some mind blowing revelations in this book, ones that will have huge consequences as the series continues and that made me incredibly excited to read Reaver. This book just reminded me why Larissa Ione is one of my favourite authors and why this is one of my favourite series. I can't get enough of the Demonica world so I'm just relieved that we have more books to come!

Review:
Lethal Rider is the third book in Larissa Ione's Lords of Deliverance series so this review will contain spoilers for previous books. Larissa is one of my favourite authors so if you're new to her work then I would highly recommend her but I would suggest starting with Pleasure Unbound, the first book in her Demonica series and then reading the books in order. I don't think these books are so easy to read as stand alone stories because there are so many interlinking characters and plot threads. It is well worth investing time into reading them though because they are some of my favourite books! If you don't want to pick up spoilers for the previous books then I'd suggest you stop reading this review now.
Ever since he was betrayed by Regan and his subsequent rage caused the deaths of hundreds of people Thanatos has been held prisoner by his siblings Ares and Limos. Using hellhound saliva to keep him paralysed wasn't an easy decision for them to make but they feared for the safety of his unborn child if he was allowed free and they can't afford the possibility that something might happen to break his seal and turn him into Death. Regan has spent the last 8 months reliving the last night she spent with Than, she is horrified with her actions now that she has had time to reflect on what happened and can't believe what she did to him. She feels that she deserves to be punished and knows that one day Than will find her and take his vengeance, she just hopes to give birth to her baby and find a safe home for him before that day happens. When Than escapes from his siblings the first thing he does is go searching for Regan, determined to make her pay for her sins. The last thing he expects is to find her on the verge of giving birth - and to discover that he is soon to become a father. He may be annoyed at Regan but the thought of becoming a father is like a dream come true and he would do anything to keep his unborn son safe. With a prophecy declaring that the baby will either cause Armageddon or prevent it everyone wants a piece of Regan and not all of them have clear motives. Than is going to need the assistance of his family and their friends if he wants a chance to keep the baby safe and if they are to have any hope of bringing Pestilence down before the end of the world.
It's no secret that I'm a massive fan of Larissa Ione, I adore her Demonica series and I have loved the Lords of Deliverance books just as much but I have to confess that Than is now my new favourite Horseman! I have to admit that I was a bit worried about the idea of Regan being the heroine of the story, I just wasn't sure if I'd be able to forgive her for what she did to Than in Immortal Rider. However, as much as what she did was inexcusable the fact that you can see how much remorse she has for her actions made me soften towards her. Then as you discover more about what actually happened that night you start to realise that she might not have been quite as responsible for everything as you thought she was.
I have had a thing for Than ever since we were first introduced to him so it feels like I've been waiting a long time for his story. It was well worth the wait though and I now have a new favourite book in the series! Than was just adorable - yes he's the most dangerous of the Horsemen but he's also sexy as hell and incredibly sweet and caring towards Regan and his unborn baby. Regan also surprised me, the more you learn about her background the easier it is to understand her actions and relate to her. She never had a traditional, loving family so the idea of motherhood terrifies her, she is also scared to trust Than - especially considering the history between them - because she doesn't think she deserves happiness. As scared as she is by the idea of motherhood she is still very protective of her son and wants the very best for him. Than has always dreamed
The ongoing story with Pestilence trying to usher in the end of the world was full of action and took a few surprising twists. We were able to catch up with our favourite demon brothers and their mates, Than's siblings and most of the other characters we've grown to know and love. It's always great to see how the main characters are getting on after the ending of their book and that is one of the things I love so much about this series. I absolutely can't wait to get my hands on Rogue Rider. It will be interesting to see how Larissa Ione goes about making Pestilence (Reseph) a deserving hero after all of the horrific things he has done throughout the series. However, if anyone can convince me he deserves a HEA then she can!

Review:
Limos is the only female Horseman of the Apocalypse and if her seal breaks she will become Famine. That is the least of her worries though as she is also destined to become Satan's bride. She has spent 5,000 years trying to avoid her fiancé and putting off the wedding but one stolen kiss from Arik means all hell breaks loose. Arik is a human who works for the army's paranormal division and knows all about the demons and other creatures that roam the earth. He has been attracted to Limos from the moment he first saw her but he had no idea what would happen to him if he tried to act on that attraction. As soon as he kisses her he finds himself dragged to hell to be tortured, if Satan's minions can just get him to call out Limos' name she will be forced to go through with the wedding. Can Arik manage to protect her and what will it cost him if he does? Is there any way he can escape?
I loved the first book in the Lords of Deliverance series (Eternal Rider) but I have to say that Immortal Rider was even better. I'm not sure how Larissa Ione manages so consistently to top her previous books with every new instalment but she does and she always leaves me desperate for more. If you're a fan of paranormal romance and you haven't tried this author yet you seriously need to do something about that. The Lords of Deliverance series can be read separately to the Demonica series but I'd recommend reading the Demonica books first because we get to see some of the characters again in this newer series.
Limos is a great heroine and one who is full of contrasts, she is both a girlie girl who loves painting her nails, dressing up and drinking cocktails but she is also a kick ass warrior who can fight with the best of them. Her brothers may be protective of her but it isn't because she is weak and unable to look after herself. She has a shady past full of dark secrets and she is terrified that if her brothers and Arik find out the truth they will all hate her, she does some stupid things trying to keep her secrets but I was proud of her when she finally confronted the truth. Arik is a swoon worthy hero, how can you not love someone who endures a month of the most horrific torture rather than give up the woman he has been lusting after? I do love a protective hero, oh and the plans he has for Limos are guaranteed to leave you fanning yourself! The romance between them is sweet and incredibly sexy and I enjoyed seeing how things worked out for them.
As you'd expect from a novel by Larissa Ione the plot of Immortal Rider is action packed and will have you sitting on the edge of your seat. Although the focus remains on our main couple Arik and Limos there are so many other plot threads that Larissa effortlessly weaves together making for a complex tale that you won't want to put down. I loved finding out more about Thanatos and can not wait for his story (although I'm a bit worried that I won't be able to forgive Regan for her actions in this book but you'll have to read it yourself to find out why). It was great to see some of the characters we already know and love make appearances, along with Ares and Cara we also get to see some of the Demonica characters and catch up with what has been happening with them.
I really can't recommend this series (and the Demonica books) highly enough and I can't get enough of the world that Larissa Ione has created. If you're a fan of strong characters, intricate plots, hot romance and demons (or horsemen!) to swoon for you need this book!

Review:
As a massive fan of Larissa Ione's Demonica series I couldn't wait to get my hands on the first book in her spin off Lords of Deliverance series. Although Eternal Rider is set in the Demonica world and has appearances from some of the characters we already know and love Larissa gives enough information that you could pick up the book without having read the other series first. That's not to say I wouldn't recommend the Demonica books though - they are some of my favourite paranormal romances so I'd definitely suggest giving them a try if you haven't already read them.
Ares (along with his brothers and sister) was cursed to become one of the Four Horsemen of the Apocalypse. Depending on which prophecy you believe they are either going to bring about the end of the world or prevent it. They each have a seal that they must protect for as soon as it is broken they will become evil and the world will be one step closer to the apocalypse. His brother Reseph's seal has already been broken and he has become Pestilence - spreading disease throughout the world. Pestilence is determined to bring Ares (War) and their other siblings Thanatos (Death) and Limos (Famine) over to the dark side.
Cara is a human who has no idea that demons walk amongst us, she is pulled into the Demonica world by accident when she is asked to treat an injured dog that turns out to have been a Hellhound. Soon Cara finds out that she has a vital role to play in stopping the apocalypse but she may have to pay with her life to do it.
I don't want to go into any more detail than that because I don't want to spoil the story for you but the plot is action packed from beginning to end and it was a book I didn't want to put down. I loved all of the characters, Ares and Cara are both strong yet vulnerable and I loved watching the romance build between them. They have an irresistible attraction but due to the circumstances they find themselves in it isn't going to be easy for them to be together. I can't wait to see more of Thanatos and Limos when their books come out but I'm most curious to see how things play out with Reseph. I have no idea how Larissa can redeem him after the things he does in this book but I have a feeling she will find a way to do it.
As much as I love the Demonica series I think that the Lords of Deliverance series could turn out to be even better and I can't wait to get my hands on the next instalment. I'd recommend Larissa Ione to any paranormal romance fan and I think she has strong enough plot lines to entice urban fantasy fans too. Be warned though the heat levels in all of her books are off the scale which is something I love but if you're not a fan of smexy scenes then you may not get on with either series.
