Review:
Tayla knows from experience that demons are evil and she has spent her life training to kill them. She is a Guardian (warrior) for The Aegis, a human society who protect the world from demons. When she is injured in a fight and wakes up in a demon hospital she meets Eidolon who is one of the doctors. Meeting Eidolon forces her to start questioning everything she has ever learned about demons - who knew they would have a hospital and actually take care of their own let alone help a slayer like her, one of their sworn enemies?

Eidolon is a seminus demon (incubus) and on the verge of reaching maturity - he needs to find a mate soon or he will transform into something terrible. The last thing he wants or needs is to be attracted to Tayla, an enemy of his kind who can't be trusted - he has more important things to deal with. Someone has been slaughtering demons and stealing their body parts for use in black magic. Eidolon is determined to stop them but as they believe The Aegis is involved he is going to need Tayla's help to discover what is happening.

I've heard so many great things about this series and I wasn't disappointed with this first instalment. I loved the idea of a demon hospital which is very unique and nothing like anything I've read before. I also enjoyed learning about some of the different kinds of demons & liked the fact that they aren't all portrayed as purely good or evil. I loved Eidolon - he is one hot demon and the chemistry between him and Tayla is great. I also like the relationship between Eidolon and his brothers Shade and Wraith and can't wait to read both of their stories.

Alongside the hot romance and plenty of sex (Eidolon is an incubus after all) there was plenty of action involving a lot of different characters. The plot was fast paced and had a enough twists to keep me guessing and I literally couldn't put the book down. If you're a fan of J.R. Ward's Black Dagger Brotherhood or Lara Adrian's Midnight Breed then I'm sure you'll love Pleasure Unbound. I never expected to say this but move over vamps - the demons are taking over!

  2. Hi Heather, your review is great :o) I've added your link for you. I actually brought all 4 books together as I'd heard so many great things about the series - I'm really pleased that I did as it means I can start on Shade's story really soon! Have you read the rest of the series?

  6. Great review, Sarah! The plot itself sounds really good, but the idea of a lot of sex puts me off. I don't mind a bit of sex, but I don't want it to be the focus. I read the first in Lara Adrian's Midnight Breed series, and I really enjoyed it, but there was too much sex for my liking. Five graphic sex scenes? Do we really need that many? I prefer a little less sex. I think Jeaniene Frost gets the balance right in her Night Huntress and Night Huntress World series. Thanks for the review, though I'm not entirely sure if I'll pick this up.

  7. Hi Jo, if you found that there was too much sex in the Midnight Breed series then you'd probably find the same in this one. I really enjoyed it but it isn't to everyones taste lol. I really must get round to trying the Night Huntress series. I've had it on my wishlist for ages but not got it yet - perhaps I can use some of my birthday money!

  8. Oooh, you should so read Jeaniene Frost's novels, they're awesome! Thanks for the info, I think I'll probably steer clear then. Oh but the plot itself sounds so good! Maybe I'll give this one a go, and then decide about the rest of the series. Cheers again!

  9. I've got to bump Jeaniene Frost up my to buy list LOL! I've heard so many great things about the series so will definitely get to it eventually. I'm a bit worried that you might find there is too much sex in this series. I loved it so would definitely recommend it but perhaps it would be worth trying the first book from the library rather than buying it just in case you find it isn't for you? I don't want to put you off but I don't want you to spend your money at my recommendation & then not like it LOL
