Review: A Vampire's Kiss Volume 1 - Laura Stamps

The Manigault Vampires is a serialized, paranormal erotica series. It's a spin-off from The Witchery Series trilogy and contains many of the same Witches and Pagans you fell in love with from that series. A Vampire's Kiss is the first novel in this series. Here's what it's about...

"Sara Gadsden is a Wiccan Green Witch addicted to paranormal romance novels and their gorgeous vampire heroes. Like most people, she has no idea vampires actually exist until she meets Drayton Manigault at a Samhain party. Dray is not only one of Columbia's wealthiest businessmen, but he's also been a vampire for the last 145 years. Oh, and he's totally yummy. When Dray offers Sara a job working for his computer company, Manigault Technologies, fantasy collides with reality, and Sara's future is suddenly transformed into one wild, smokin' HOT ride!"

The Manigault Vampires:
A Vampire's Kiss
 ~ Volume 1 (Chapters 1-3)
 ~ Volume 2 (Chapters 4-6)
 ~ Volume 3 (Chapters 7-9)

A Vampire's Kiss is being released in installments that can be downloaded from Laura Stamps' blog - Volume 1 (Chapters 1-3) is available now and the other volumes will be available monthly starting with Volume 2 (Chapters 4-6) in April.  Each volume is a very affordable $1.99 so it's a bit like a monthly magazine all about hot vampires - my kind of magazine LOL.  For more information & to read the first chapter check out the blog.

Review:
I enjoyed the first chapter of A Vampire's Kiss on Laura's blog so was looking forward to reading the first volume of this series.  I wasn't sure how well we'd be able to get to know the characters in just 3 chapters but I was pleasantly surprised.  I liked Dray immediately - he is one hot vampire & I can't wait to read more about him.  I was a little surprised to find him outside in daylight but I'm sure that will be explained in future volumes.  Sara really made me laugh - she has a habit of saying the first thing that comes to mind which I think will probably land her in trouble at times.  She is a massive fan of vampire romance but doesn't believe vampires really exist & has no idea that Dray actually is one so some of her comments to him are hilarious.

You can really feel the chemistry between the two of them so although we haven't got to the main action between them yet I can't wait to see things really heat up.  The first volume showed a lot of potential & I can't wait to read the next installment.

I really liked the idea of a monthly series, it was nice because I was able to read this installment quite quickly so it was an ideal read for when you don't have much time on your hands.  I'm a little disappointed that I can't read more of the story now though - talk about ending on a cliffhanger!  I really can't wait to get my hands on the rest of the story & am desperate to read more about Dray.

  1. Awesome review! Thanks, Sarah. I just love the chemistry between Sara and Dray. She is such a trip, and he is soooo HAWT! You're in for a treat with chapters 4-5 in the next issue. All I can say is keep an extra pair of panties handy cause yours are gonna melt when those two hit the sheets. YOWZA! ;)
