Review: Loving Liv - Stacey Kennedy

USA Today bestselling author Stacey Kennedy returns to the passion-filled world of Club Sin and Dirty Little Secrets with this novella featuring a slightly flawed Dom who has six days--and six very steamy nights--on a Caribbean cruise to convince an innocent woman from his past that maybe the best way for two broken people to find true love is to jump headfirst into the deep end of desire.

Liv Sloane needs a vacation. After her cheating ex broke her heart--and their engagement--Liv never fully recovered. In fact, she's spent the past two years avoiding romance at all costs... with the exception of that sizzling one-night stand she can't seem to forget. So when her friends from college suggest a reunion cruise, Liv knows a relaxing week of sun, sand, and beach reads is exactly what she needs to clear her mind. But when they board the ship, Liv is hit with two surprises. Her friends accidentally booked a singles cruise, and her one-night stand is waiting on deck.

Miles Schantz has spent the past three months thinking about Liv. As a Dom at one of the hottest sex clubs in Las Vegas, Miles has his pick of women... so why can't he get Liv out of his head? When he receives an email asking him to join Liv on a cruise, he can't believe his luck. But when he meets her on board--and she's completely unaware of her "invitation"-- Miles has to come up with a new plan. Six nights of no-strings-attached passion. Six nights of wild fantasies, sexy games, and forbidden adventures. Six nights to show Liv that she belongs with him...

Five friends. One singles cruise. So many sexy shenanigans. Be sure to check out all of the standalone Gone Wild books!

Review:
Ever since Liv had her heart broken by her cheating fiancé she's sworn off men so this trip to hang out with her closest friends should be just what she needs. What she wasn't counting on is running into Miles though, the hottest one night stand of her life and a man who has been trying to get her to date him ever since.

Miles hasn't been able to get Liv out of his head since their first encounter three months ago so when she emails him inviting him to join her on a cruise he jumps at the chance. He had no idea that it wasn't actually Liv who sent the email so they both get an unpleasant surprise when they first see each other again but now Liv is forced to spend time with him he's determined to make her see how good they could be together.

Loving Liv is the fifth book in the Gone Wild series containing books written by Stacey Kennedy, Katee Robert, Piper J. Drake, Avery Flynn and Robin Covington. Each of the books stars a different member of a group of old college friends who are on a cruise trip hoping to reconnect and spend time together. This has been a really fun series that's helped me find a few new (to me) authors to add to my to read mountain and I'm definitely planning on reading Stacey Kennedy's Club Sin & Dirty Little Secrets series as soon as possible.

This book was definitely the hottest of the series and I loved every minute of it. Liv is very attracted to Miles but she is so convinced their relationship couldn't possibly work that she isn't willing to give him a chance. She was badly burnt by her ex and is determined to never let herself get into that situation again. A relationship with Miles just makes no sense to her, not only is he a Dom who runs a sex club while she's totally vanilla, he's also so out of her league that it's ridiculous and they don't even live in the same state. Miles on the other hand thinks they'll be perfect together, he's spent enough time around beautiful women to recognise insane chemistry when he feels it and he knows that Liv isn't quite as vanilla as she thinks she is. All he's got to do is prove it to her.

I thought Liv and Miles made a great couple and their chemistry was insanely good, Liv had no idea how much she'd enjoy her time with Miles but she's still running scared. It's not going to be easy to convince her to give love another chance but hopefully she'll be brave enough to try. This book also has cameo appearances from quite a few couples from the Club Sin series as well as Allie and Micha from Bound Beneath His Pain which I'm sure fans will appreciate and it definitely made me want to read more of Stacey Kennedy's books in the future.

Review: Attracting Aubrey - Avery Flynn

I never dreamed I’d meet my celebrity crush while stealing every single pair of my best friend’s pants.

Trust me, my life is not that wild. In fact, the most excitement I usually get is running my fan-favorite Insta thirst account featuring butt-tastic pics of Hollywood superhero Carter Hayes. So, imagine my shock when, in the middle of the cruise ship hallway, I realize the guy whose shirt I'm stuffing slacks inside of is Carter disguised as a tourist. How I manage not to faint dead away, I've got no clue.

When word leaks that Carter might be on board, he asks me to help him maintain his cover. There’s no way I’m gonna say no to that. I just don't share that I’m the anonymous woman behind the fan account that reported sighting him onboard. No biggie. Right?

However, when things between us go from friendly to hot to OMG-I-can’t-keep-my-clothes-on-around-him, all I can do is hope he never discovers my secret. You see, somewhere along the way, Carter went from an untouchable movie star to the man I’m falling for.

Five friends. One singles cruise. So many sexy shenanigans. Be sure to check out all of the standalone Gone Wild books!

Review:
Aubrey's life hasn't turned out the way she expected, she's back living in her small hometown helping run her grandmother's bakery even though she has zero skills in the kitchen, and her dreams of becoming a writer seem further away than ever. For fun she runs a celebrity fan account posting pictures of her favourite actor on Instagram but never in a million years did she expect to actually meet him.

Carter is a Hollywood heartthrob who plays an extremely popular superhero but he doesn't want to get pigeonholed into one type of role. He's been trying to convince a director to give him a chance at a more serious part but they're worried fans won't see past his superhero character. If he can spend the entire week on this cruise without anyone uncovering his true identity then he might just have a chance at the job of a lifetime, but he didn't count on running straight into a superfan who could easily blow his cover.

Attracting Aubrey is the third book in the Gone Wild series containing books written by Avery Flynn, Katee Robert, Piper J. Drake, Robin Covington and Stacey Kennedy. Each of the books stars a different member of a group of old college friends who are on a cruise trip hoping to reconnect and spend time together. This has been a really fun series that's helped me find a few new (to me) authors to add to my to read mountain.

This was a really fun and light hearted romance, I thought Aubrey and Carter were both great characters and it was hilarious seeing how tongue tied she was when she first met someone that she's spent years lusting after from a distance. Carter was actually really down to earth for someone so famous and it was obvious that he was enjoying being out of the spotlight and not mobbed by fans. I did appreciate that he came clean about his identity to Aubrey very quickly so there was no deception on his part though, it must be hard to trust in that kind of situation but he didn't want to spend time together based on a lie. I did feel like Aubrey could have been upfront more quickly about her fan account but there were several times she tried to broach the subject and he kept changing the subject so it wasn't all her fault. Either way they were a very cute couple and I was happy with how everything worked out in the end.

I'd quite like to read a story about Carter's brother but in the meantime I definitely plan to check out some of the other books that are set in Avery's hometown of Salvation: The Sweet Salvation Brewery Series (Enemies on Tap, Hollywood on Tap & Trouble on Tap) and the standalone titles Betting the Billionaire and Balls Out.

Review: Gaming Grace - Piper J. Drake

All work and no play is no way to enjoy this cruise.

Executive Director Grace Kim figures this reunion with her college friends is the perfect excuse to prove that she knows how to keep work/life balance and enjoy the Caribbean, preferably with her pants intact.

Rich, sexy, brilliant Bryan Wu has an app for that, and he charms Grace into helping him test it. He offers seven days of the best vacation of her life (bonus, sizzling chemistry) before they return to reality, but he didn't anticipate just how much of his heart he'd give her.

When an accidental error results in a humiliating video of her online, Grace must salvage her career and decide whether to erase Bryan from her memory forever or admit they brought out the best in each other.

Five friends. One singles cruise. So many sexy shenanigans. Be sure to check out all of the standalone Gone Wild books!

Review:
Grace has never found it easy to relax, she's always too busy working and trying to live up to everyone's expectations of her to ever unwind and just have fun. This trip is supposed to be a chance to catch up with her old friends and she wants to prove to them that she can leave work behind, even if it's only for a few days. Bryan is on the cruise wanting to test out a new app he's created, one that gives you challenges each day to hopefully push you out of your comfort zone but also designed to help you find new ways have fun. With Bryan's help Grace soon finds herself trying all kinds of things she'd never even dreamed of before but when an embarrassing video of her accidentally ends up online putting her career at risk she is forced to decide what is really important in life.

Gaming Grace is the second book in the Gone Wild series containing books written by Piper J. Drake, Katee Robert, Avery Flynn, Robin Covington and Stacey Kennedy. Each of the books stars a different member of a group of old college friends who are on a cruise trip hoping to reconnect and spend time together. I've really enjoyed the first two books so I'm looking forward to reading the rest of the series.

I think we've all met someone like Grace at some point, someone who is a supportive friend but who is so dedicated to their work that it leaves them little time to enjoy life. This story gives Grace the chance to find a little work/life balance and for the first time she really gets to let her hair down and just have fun. Bryan does a brilliant job of brining out her more playful side and at the same time she encourages him to take certain things more seriously so they really balance each other out. I thought their romance was incredibly sweet and I enjoyed spending time with them both. Audrey is up next and I'm definitely curious to see what else the pants thief gets up to. If you're looking for a fun and light hearted series to take your mind off current event then you can't go far wrong with this one.

Review: Kissing Kendal - Katee Robert

All Kendall Barnes wants is a nice relaxing cruise to reconnect with her friends from college. Instead, they're mistakenly booked on a singles' cruise. Review:
Kendall is mortified when she realises the calm and relaxing cruise she book for herself and 4 of her college friends is actually a party cruise for singles. So much for spending their days by the pool quietly catching up. It might just be the best mistake she's ever made though since it brings Alex into her life. The last thing workaholic Alex wanted was a holiday but his grandfather booked this cruise for him and his best friend in the hopes that Alex would finally start to unwind and forget about the bar he runs for just a short time. He's so focused on worrying about what is going on back home that he almost misses what is right in front of him but luckily his attraction to Kendall wins out and a holiday fling might be just what he needs to take his mind off of everything.

Kissing Kendall is the first book in the Gone Wild series containing books written by Katee Robert, Piper J. Drake, Avery Flynn, Robin Covington and Stacey Kennedy. Each of the books stars a different member of the friendship group that Kendall invited on this cruise and I'm looking forward to getting to know the others. Katee Robert always manages to write the hottest romances, that's one of the main things that interested me in this series in the first place, and she definitely doesn't disappoint with Kendall and Alex. These two burn up the pages almost from the moment they first meet and bad boy Alex definitely brings out Kendall's naughty side as she starts to discover what an exhibitionist she is.

This is a fairly short book so the relationship development does happen quite quickly but that doesn't make it any less satisfying. Alex and Kendall actually have a lot in common besides sex and their personalities just fit together really well. It's been a long time since Alex gave up his bad boy ways but Kendall reminds him how to have fun again while Kendall, who spends all of her time worrying about other people, also finds herself letting go and relaxing around Alex knowing that he's there to catch her if she falls.

Most of the story is really fun and light hearted but it does take a bit of a darker turn towards the end when a family tragedy sends Kendall's life into a tail spin. I'd actually love a second book about these two so we can see what happens next and I'd quite like to spend more time with Kendall's sisters too. This was definitely a great start to the series and I'm looking forward to reading the rest of the stories.

Review:
Her Guardian Angel is a crossover that mixes Larissa Ione's Demonica Underworld with Lexi Blake's Masters and Mercenaries world, it's actually part of a collection of crossover novellas in the Masters and Mercenaries world that is designed to introduce readers to a range of new authors and worlds. I have to confess I've only recently discovered Lexi Blake's writing so I'm new to the Masters and Mercenaries series (it's DEFINITELY on my radar now and I plan to check it out asap!) but I love the Demonica world so I couldn't miss this story and I think it works well as an introduction to either series.

Declan is a professional bodyguard who works for McKay-Taggart, the company I believe is central to the Masters and Mercenaries series. He takes his work seriously and prefers more dangerous jobs so when he's tasked with babysitting a rich socialite he's not exactly thrilled with the idea. Suzanne isn't what she first appears though, she's actually one of the memitim, an earthbound angel who is tasked with protecting important humans until she can earn her place in heaven. Declan is being targeted by a demon and needs her protection so the easiest way for her to keep an eye on him is if she's around him all day long.

I'm not going to say much more about the plot but this was another fabulous paranormal romance from Larissa Ione. I think she did a brilliant job of introducing new readers to a few characters from each series, she definitely did enough to make me curious to check out the Masters and Mercenaries books and I enjoyed catching up with characters I already know from the Demonica Underworld. As a Demonica fan I'm excited by the direction this series is taking and I can't wait to read more about Suzanne's siblings. Suzanne and Declan were a great couple who went through a lot together in a short space of time and that baptism of fire created a strong bond between them. They had brilliant chemistry but also worked well together as partners and I'm sure we'll see more of them as the series continues.

Review: Wonder Woman: Warbringer - Leigh Bardugo

She will become a legend but first she is Diana, Princess of the Amazons. And her fight is just beginning . . .

Diana is desperate to prove herself to her warrior sisters. But when the opportunity comes, she throws away her chance at glory and breaks Amazon law to save a mere mortal, Alia Keralis. With this single heroic act, Diana may have just doomed the world.

Alia is a Warbringer - a descendant of the infamous Helen of Troy, fated to bring about an age of bloodshed and misery. Diana and Alia will face an army of enemies, mortal and divine, determined to destroy or possess the Warbringer.

To save the world, they must stand side by side against the tide of war.

Wonder Woman: War Bringer - Leigh Bardugo
Batman: Nightwalker - Marie Lu (January 2018)
Catwoman: Soulstealer - Sarah J Maas (August 2018)
Superman - Matt de la Pena (January 2019)

Review:
After loving the recent Wonder Woman movie and as a huge fan of Leigh Bardugo's writing I was really looking forward to this book and I'm happy to say it didn't disappoint. This is an alternative version of Wonder Woman where Diana is a teenager in the modern day so the plot was different to the movie and other versions of the story but there were a lot of things that were familiar so it still had the right feel to it.

Diana loses her chance to prove herself to the other Amazons when throws a race to save the life of a mortal girl and bring her back to the island. Visitors have never been allowed but it turns out that Alia is more dangerous than most - she is the current incarnation of the Warbringer, a being who causes war and devastation wherever she goes, and who could destroy the world if she's allowed to live. Diana is desperate to fix the mistakes she has made but she can't let Alia die so when she finds out that there is one possible way to cure Alia's curse she knows she has to at least try to save her new friend.

This was such a fun story to read, with a wonderfully diverse cast of characters, a hint of romance and most importantly of all brilliant, strong female friendships. Diana and Alia are joined on their journey by Alia's brother Jason and their friends Nim and Theo. Each of them have their own skillset to bring to the quest and they all have a role to play in saving Alia and stopping the end of the world. I'll admit the beginning felt a little slow, mainly because it felt so familiar to the beginning of the movie, but once the story gets going the pace built up nicely and towards the end the action was nonstop. It wouldn't be a Leigh Bardugo book if she didn't throw a twist or two at you and I was definitely caught unaware by one of them. The story wrapped up really nicely but I can't help hoping that there will be more Wonder Woman stories to come, in the meantime I'm looking forward to reading other popular YA author's takes on their favourite superheroes - next up is Batman: Nightwalker by Marie Lu.

Review: Paradise Found - Vivian Arend

Paige’s two Australian lovers, Trent and Mason, have fulfilled her every fantasy over the past eleven months. A vacation on the exotic Bandicoot Cove Island resort will be a fitting end for what was supposed to be their no-strings-attached relationship. And she has to end it, because she’s broken the rules and fallen in love with both of her men. It’s better to leave them both than be forced to choose.

Trent and Mason have plans for Paige. They want more than what they all agreed to at the beginning of their bit of laidback erotic fun, and they’re willing to do whatever it takes to convince Paige to give in.

It's a delicate operation that'll require close attention to detail to take their paradise-perfect arrangement to the next level.

Each book in the Bandicoot Cove series is a standalone story that can be enjoyed out of order.

Bandicoot Cove Series:
(Multi-author series featuring different characters in the same location)
Tropical Sin - Lexxie Couper
Paradise Found - Vivian Arend
Island Idyll - Jess Dee
Afternoon Rhapsody - Jess Dee
Sunset Heat - Lexxie Couper
Moonlight Mirage - Sami Lee

Review:
Canadian Paige has spent the last year working in Australia as a pastry chef, she's loved every minute of her time there, especially the time she has spent in the arms of not one but two gorgeous men, Trent and Mason. They went into their affair knowing it was a year of no strings fun but now Paige has fallen for them both the thought of leaving them to return to Canada is breaking her heart. Luckily for her she isn't the only one who feels that way and Trent and Mason have booked them all a weekend at the Bandicoot Cove resort where they're hoping to convince her to stay with them long term.

Paradise Found is a short but spicy read from Vivian Arend and I loved every minute of it. It's a novella so I was worried there wouldn't be enough time to develop a believable triad relationship but because the characters are already in a relationship at the start of the story the author is able to show what a great connection they all have right from the beginning. Trent and Mason are best friends who share everything together and they have fallen hard for Paige but worry she won't be interested in a long term relationship with both of them. Paige on the other hand has fallen hard for the two very different men and is dreading the thought of saying goodbye to either of them. The sex was hot, the romance was surprisingly sweet and this menage story hit the spot perfectly. I definitely need to check out the rest of the Bandicoot Cove series asap.

Welcome to Vegas. Home of the Sin City Collectors. The job description is easy: Bring the offending supernatural in to the Boss and don't ask any questions.

*The characters in these 3 installments interact on the page to make for one fun novel!*

ACES WILD, Vol. 1

After botching her first Collection, she hasn't been assigned to another one since. But when she receives her next playing card, she's in for a surprise. Not only is a vampire her next target, but they've paired her up to make sure she gets the job done right.

Being a hellhound isn't enough to protect Jake Troubadour from Nevada Hamilton, no matter how thick his skin is. Finding out he has to work with the beautiful dhampir, after not seeing her for three years, is a low blow--but Jake is a professional. He takes his Collections as seriously as he does running his bar. He'll do whatever it takes to get the job done.

ANTE UP, Vol. 2
Diesel Jones is a shifter with moon issues. His dream of becoming a Sin City Collector has lingered in the shadows because of his inability to control himself. But when Louie Fiore decides to test his merit, Diesel jumps at the chance. Sofia Cabrera is the new witch in town, and she's more than anyone bargained for. She finds herself drawn to Diesel, the sexy shifter, the first moment she lays eyes on him. When she finds herself the target of an organization of incubi, Diesel comes to her aid unexpectedly and they end up fighting the threat together.

ALL IN, Vol. 3

Even though she operates the biggest spy network in the supernatural world, it may not be enough to free her from the crimes she's been accused of committing. But keeping her deteriorating condition from the sexy shifter who's accompanying her is getting trickier by the hour.

Luke Jones is on a mission to save the succubus he's fallen for--not only from her brother--but from herself. The two have been on the incubus's trail for weeks and finally have him backed into a corner. Luke knows Ginger is in trouble, but he has no idea how to save her.

Review:
The Sin City Collectors series is a collaboration between Amanda Carlson and Kristen Painter, each author has written 3 stories set in the same world that are available either as stand alone novellas or in one of two collections. This first volume contains all of Amanda Carlson's contributions: Aces Wild, Ante Up and All In, the three stories all follow on very closely from one another so although each novella features a different couple there is a story arc that goes across all three. I'm not sure if there is any crossover of characters into Kristen Painter's novellas as I've not read those yet but I believe they have a similar story arc and would also be best read in order.

Each of these stories features characters who are members of the Sin City Collectors, an elite team who are tasked with tracking down supernaturals that have broken the law and they will do whatever it takes to bring their target to justice.

I'll give you a quick overview of the stories but I don't want to go into too much detail because it would be easy to give you spoilers:

Aces Wild
Dhampir Collector Nevada has only one rule, she does not bring in vampires. Ever. So she's not best pleased about her latest job, especially since the boss has paired her up with the sexy hellhound Jake to make sure she gets the job done. Nevada and Jake have history and although their last meeting might have been the hottest night of her life it didn't end well so she has no intention of going back for more. Jake has never forgotten the night they shared though and he's not about to let Nevada walk away for a second time without putting up a fight.

Ante Up
Diesel is a shapeshifter who has been trying to get a job with the Sin City Collectors for a long time but his issues with control around the full moon have always made him too much of a wild card. Now he is finally being given the chance of a lifetime and if he can bring in a rogue incubus he'll land his dream job. The incubus has set his sights on a powerful local witch Sofia and Diesel will do whatever it takes to protect the woman who has slowly been stealing his heart.

All In
Ginger is a succubus who has spent years searching for her brother and trying to rescue him from the clutches of a criminal organisation but all her efforts have earned her is a target on her back thanks to the way that the Sumerians have set her up to take the fall for their own activities. Shapeshifter Luke has been tasked with bringing in both Ginger and her brother but he is determined to help her gather enough evidence to prove her innocence before he does. He also has every intention of keeping her safe from her brother, no matter what he has to do to succeed.

The Sin City Collectors Boxed Set is an enjoyable anthology of short but hot reads and I really liked the world the author has created. I actually listened to the audiobook version and I thought that narrator Emma Wilder did a great job reading it. My only complaint was that I didn't really like the voice she used for Sofia's character but that was definitely a personal taste thing rather than a problem with the story or narrator. I'm hoping that Amanda Carlson might decide to write more stories in this world (if nothing else I'd definitely love to read more about Raoul!) but I'm looking forward to picking up Kristen Painter's collection in the meantime.

Review:
This is the second volume in the Masters of Seduction multi-author series containing stories by Lara Adrian, Donna Grant, Laura Wright and Alexandra Ivy. Although each novella in the series features a different main couple there is an overarching plot that carries across the whole series so I would recommend reading both volumes in order to get the most out of the reading experience.

I'll give you a quick overview of the stories but I don't want to go into too much detail because it would be easy to give you spoilers:

Priceless - Lara Adrian
Sorin is the Master of Ebarron and in control of the family's assets so when he is contacted by a young woman who wants to buy back one of the treasures they have purchased he isn't willing to let it go. Ashayla will do anything to get back her family heirloom, it's her grandmother's dying wish to have it back so she doesn't have much time to work with and she sets out to Sorin's casino with a plan to steal it. Unfortunately for her things don't go quite to plan and it might cost her more than she could ever have dreamed of to get back her grandmother's pendent. This was such a fun story, I loved how determined Ashayla was and really enjoyed the banter between her and Sorin.

Boundless - Donna Grant
Naomi knew nothing of the supernatural world until her sister was murdered by an incubus, now after reading her sister's diaries she has a suspect and she is determined to make sure Javan pays for his crime. Javan isn't a murderer but he is the Master of Drohas and since Naomi's sister was one of the artists that his family sponsored he is just as keen to find out who killed her. The pair have to work together to find out what really happened and the sparks are soon flying between them. Another enjoyable read and I though they were a really cute couple.

Dauntless - Laura Wright
Cas may love to party and have fun but as Master of Trevanion he knows it is his duty to mate into a well connected family. His mother is determined to see him with someone who will help secure the family's link to royalty and she doesn't care whether Cas likes his intended mate or not. Then at the ball where is mating should be announced he spots a beautiful stranger and his life is turned upside down. This sweet and hot story was definitely my favourite in the anthology (that's 2 out of 2 for Laura Wright!), it's a Cinderella retelling which is probably one of the reasons I loved it so much, I'm a sucker for fairytales!

Reckless - Alexandra Ivy
Tiege is a play boy who loves nothing more than partying but he's had to step up and take over as Master of Furia after the death of his brother's mate. He isn't going to let his new role stop him from having fun though. Sloane is a former Nephilim Blade who has spent her whole life putting her duty above everything else. The two of them should be like oil and water but when Tiege is desperate to feed and Sloane is the only one available to help him the passion that flares between them is surprisingly hot. I enjoyed the connection between these two, I loved how noble Sloane is and it was fun to see Tiege's heart captured.

Masters of Seduction is an enjoyable anthology of short but hot reads by some fantastic authors. As much as I would have loved for these stories to be longer so that more time could have been spend developing the different relationships if you're in the mood for something quick but satisfying then I'd recommend checking out this series.

Review:
Rules of Seduction is technically the seventh book in the multi-author Serve series but it does work really well as a standalone story and it's Joya Ryan's first contribution to the series. Fans of the previous books will recognise hero Nolan though, he's one of the Doms at Serve and he's in charge of interviewing potential new members and making sure that everything that happens inside the club is safe and consensual. I've always been intrigued by his character so I was really excited when I found out that this would be his story and he was just as sexy as I knew he would be.

Ava is Serve's newest member, she has only just moved to the area and she's looking for something completely anonymous. After escaping from a controlling ex-husband she's determined to live life by her own rules and she'll never let another man have the power to hurt her again. Just because she likes to be dominated in the bedroom doesn't mean she's going to give a man power over the rest of her life and she's completely sworn off men and dating. She is up for anything at the club as long as she's allowed to keep her blindfold on and never finds out who the man is outside of the club setting. Nolan is immediately drawn to Ava and he wants to be the one to fulfil her wildest fantasies, in fact he just can't bring himself to hand her over to one of the club's other Doms. He isn't built for a relationship anyway so what's the harm in being her anonymous partner as long as Ava never finds out it's him? As the passion builds between them in Serve they also start to develop a friendship outside of the club but Ava has no clue that the two men who are both starting to capture a piece of her heart are the same person. When Nolan decides he wants it all can Ava forgive him for his deception?

This was the first book I've read by Joya Ryan but in keeping with the rest of this series it was hot as hell and I actually think Nolan is one of my favourite guys from the series. He is sexy as hell and knows exactly how to give Ava everything she needs. Not only is he very dominant but he's also incredibly caring, very funny, loving and a great friend. I loved that we got to see them getting to know each other outside of the club and it was easy to see the connection between them. This was a fantastic instalment to the series and I'm definitely going to have to check out some of this author's other books in the future!

Review: Protecting Fate - Katee Robert

He’ll keep her safe . . . but who will protect her from him?

Fixer Sara Reaver is in serious trouble. She’s stepped on the wrong toes, and now her uncle is sending her out of the city in an effort to keep her safe—and he’s assigning her a glorified babysitter. The last person she expects to show up is the gorgeous Z, or for him to tempt her and then reject her in the space of a single night. Twice. Now she’s out to prove to him just how good they’d fit up together in every way imaginable.

Mercenary Z Loreto hates protection jobs, but he’s willing to make an exception for his best friend’s little sister. The only problem is she calls up things he’s been doing his damnedest to keep under wraps for the last seven years. But when she pushes him too far, it all comes rushing to the fore, and the fact she’s willing to submit to his every desire only makes the loss of control sweeter.

Sara and Z have a boatload of issues between them, but they’re sure they can make things work if they take it one day at a time… Right up until things spiral beyond their control. Now Z’s playing for keeps in a big way, and Sara’s got to decide if a chance at true happiness is worth the risk of repeating history.

Review:
I loved Katee Robert's first two books in the Serve series so was really looking forward to getting to know Garrett and Will's baby sister Sara. I knew I'd enjoy Protecting Fate but I didn't think it would be possible to top Garrett and Will as some of my favourite dominant heroes, until I met Z that is! I have to say I think this was Katee Robert's hottest story yet and I absolutely loved the chemistry between Z and Sara, in fact if it hadn't been for one of my least favourite tropes being used towards the end of the book this would easily have been my favourite instalment in the Serve series.

Sara works for her uncle as a Fixer but she's got in a little over her head and now has someone out to get her. Her uncle and brothers want her out of the city where she will be safe but they're sending a team along just to make sure she is protected. The last thing Sara wants is a babysitter but there is something about Z that draws her like a moth to a flame. Z only took the job as a favour to his best friend Garrett and getting involved with Sara would be wrong on so many levels but no matter how hard he tries to resist she manages to push all his buttons. Sara knows what she wants and she isn't taking no for an answer.

Sara and Z have absolutely fantastic chemistry right from the moment they lay eyes on each other. Sara is a strong and confident woman, someone who is capable of standing on her own two feet and who is highly independent but she loves to submit in the bedroom. She has very strict rules though and will never sleep with a guy more than three times because she absolutely doesn't want any kind of a relationship. She's seen first hand what happens when a marriage goes bad and she refuses to open herself up to that kind of hurt. Z also has very good reasons to be wary, he's been badly burned before and has had his Dominant side locked down tightly for a long time. Sara brings it bubbling to the surface and even though he knows how dangerous it is he just can't seem to help himself around her.

I loved both of these characters and I loved the fact that Z was quite quick to make up his mind about what he wanted. Once he'd set his sights on Sara he wasn't going to settle for anything less than being a permanent part of her life and as much as she resists him for a while it didn't take too long for him to worm his way into her affections. I really enjoyed seeing them learn to open up and trust each other both in and out of the bedroom. I already mentioned that there was one particular thing that happened towards the end that I wasn't happy with but that's more down to a personal preference than something that will bother most readers and I can't really say too much about it without giving spoilers. All I'll say is that it felt like a way of adding drama when there didn't really need to be any but I was happy that the problems didn't continue for too long and both Sara and Z were adult enough to admit their mistakes and move forward. They did both need a kick to get them there but that gave us the opportunity to see a couple of characters from the previous books so it wasn't all bad. I think I just would have preferred the drama in the story to have come more from the storyline of someone being after Sara, that would have felt more natural and would have added more pace to the story overall.

The important thing is that everything worked out okay in the end and I absolutely loved the little epilogue. Sara and Z were such a cute couple, their chemistry was fantastic and Protecting Fate was a hot as hell story. If you're looking for a steamy read you can't go wrong with any of Katee Robert's instalments in this series (Mistaken by Fate, Betting on Fate and Protecting Fate) and although each of these books does work as a stand alone story I would highly recommend all three of them.

Review: Driven by Fate - Tessa Bailey

The first rule is obey . . . and she already broke it.

Francesca "Frankie" De Luca always pays her debts. Even when it means stepping inside Serve, the sensuous Manhattan club that caters to particular adult desires. For Frankie, it's a taste of something she's always wanted—and never received. Until a sharply dressed Brit orders her into his room, and instructs her to undress before delivering the carnal punishment she so desperately needs . . .

She wasn't the woman Porter Evans was expecting. Not this wild thing with the pale, silvery eyes. And such cheek. But she violates Porter's strict rules of control. Temptation is a dangerous thing indeed. Yet everything about Frankie cries out for schooling about the tantalizing interplay of pleasure and pain. So Porter offers Frankie a deal she can't refuse—and the only thing she owes him is submission . . .

Review:
Driven by Fate is the fifth book in the Serve series (the third by Tessa Bailey as the other two were written by Katee Robert) and although we've briefly met both of these characters in a previous instalment you don't actually have to read this series in order to be able to enjoy each story.

Frankie has wanted to explore her submissive fantasies for a long time now but visiting Serve to repay a debt gives her the perfect opportunity to test the waters. Porter knows Frankie isn't the woman he was waiting for from the second she steps into his private room but against all common sense he can't resist taking what she's offering. The two of them have explosive chemistry and neither of them is quite ready to let it end after just one session but with Porter due to return home to England in a matter of weeks someone might end up getting their heart broken if they get in too deep.

I've been intrigued by British Dom Porter since we first met him in one of the earlier novels in the series so I have to admit to being more than a little excited when I found out that this was his story. I had a feeling he'd be intense and I was right! Tessa Bailey always writes such great dirty talking heroes and Porter is as dirty as they come so you can expect some incredibly hot sex scenes when you pick up this story. I've had a few issues with some of this author's previous heroines but I found myself really liking Frankie, she's a feisty woman who knows what she wants and isn't ashamed to admit it. As much as she fantasises about being dominated in the bedroom she is far from submissive in the rest of her daily life so she definitely keeps Porter on his toes. I thought they had great chemistry and I enjoyed seeing the two of them together but what stopped this from being a five star read for me was the fact that I wanted more depth to both of their characters. We learn a lot about Frankie but Porter is more of a mystery and I would have loved to explore more of his past to see exactly what made him tick.

Driven by Fate is a fab read though and I'm really enjoying this whole series, as a long term fan of both Tessa Bailey and Katee Robert any future books will automatically be added to the top of my wish list.

Review: Betting on Fate - Katee Robert

This time, all bets are off . . .

Penelope Carson loves to steal clients from Will Reaver. Yet something in her business nemesis’s icy blue eyes makes Penelope…nervous. It certainly doesn’t help that the man is the living embodiment of a Norse god. A controlled, powerful Norse god. Which she really should have remembered before she made a bet with him—because losing means becoming Will’s personal submissive for a week.

There’s nothing Will would like more than to have Penelope kneeling before him in complicit submission, her fiery dark eyes inviting him in. Challenging him. But their bet takes Will and Penelope deeper than either of them have ever been. Where control is an illusion, and boundaries are pushed aside. And where hearts become the stakes in a game that neither Dominant nor submissive can win . . .

Review:
Betting on Fate is the fourth book in the Serve multi-author series but the story does work well as a standalone, we have already met Will in Mistaken by Fate though. Will is the twin brother of Garrett and I had a feeling he'd be the more dominant of the two so I was really looking forward to getting to know him better. I had very high hopes for this book before I started it and I'm pleased to say that Katee Robert didn't let me down, I think this was actually the hottest book in the series and it was definitely a book I'll be reading again at some point.

Penelope and Will are rivals, they both own their own businesses and have been competing for contracts for years so there is a lot of antagonism between them. There is also a crazy attraction going on but neither of them has been willing to act on it. Until they once again find themselves going after the same client that is, both are confident they are going to win so they decide to have a friendly little bet on it. Although both of them prefer to be dominant when they play at Serve, they agree that the loser of the bet will have to submit to the winner for a whole week. What they didn't realise was how much Penelope would enjoy submitting to Will and how well they would fit together but can two rivals in business, both of whom are very anti-relationships, figure out a compromise that will allow them to have a future together?

I really loved Penelope and Will together, they have a fantastic connection and a lot of common interests but I enjoyed seeing them push each other's boundaries too. Penelope has always known that she's a switch but her submissive side isn't something she's really explored before because she's always preferred to play the Domme when she's at Serve. She has been attracted to Will ever since she first saw him but was scared of getting too emotionally involved if she let him get close so it's not easy for her to put her trust in him now. I thought their relationship developed at the perfect speed, both characters have a steep learning curve, not because they aren't experienced in the BDSM lifestyle but because they're trying to find what works best for them as a couple. Will is definitely a commanding Dom, he knows exactly what he wants in the bedroom and he knows how to get it, but he's also very caring and I loved that Katee Robert showed how a Dom protects and looks after his sub.

Overall I thought Betting on Fate was a fabulous story, it's probably a little heavier on the BDSM side of things than the previous three books in the series were and it even includes a little ménage action (although it was very tastefully done and it wasn't taken as far as I expected so don't let it put you off reading the story) but I loved it even more because of that. This story is hot as hell and will definitely have readers fanning themselves! I really hope this isn't the end of the series, I'd a book about Will and Garrett's younger sister Sara because I have a feeling she's going to be quite a handful for her chosen partner but I'll automatically be buying any future books in this series.

Review: Mistaken by Fate - Katee Robert

The man she should want, or the man she craves . . .

Fashion designer Ridley Ethridge thinks she's found the perfect, stable sort of guy in her childhood friend Will Reaver. With seduction in her sights, she arranges to rock Will's world at an exclusive club that caters to those with adventurous and erotic appetites. What happens next is both intense and satisfying—until Ridley's blindfold comes off to reveal Will's twin brother. The same twin who broke her heart eight years ago.

Former soldier Garrett Reaver hasn't ever gotten Ridley out of his system. And now that she's before him in all her submissive glory? He'll be damned before he lets someone else have her, especially his brother. Because Garrett and Ridley have some seriously unfinished business to take care of, and it starts now. And this time, he'll show Ridley how exquisite a relationship with him could be . . . if their past doesn't catch up to them first.

Review:
This is the third book in the Serve series, the first two books were written by Tessa Bailey and this is Katee Robert's first instalment. There is no crossover of characters to the first two books so this can be read as a standalone story, the link here is that all of the characters attend the same BDSM club in New York.

Ridley has never got over the crush she had on her best friend's older brother Garrett but he broke her heart six years ago when he walked away and she has decided that it's about time for her to move on with her life. She's decided that the perfect guy for her to settle down with is Garrett's twin brother Will and she heads out to the Serve BDSM club determined to seduce him. After an amazing, passionate scene at the club Ridley is horrified when she removes her blindfold to see not Will but Garrett is the guy who just made the earth move. Garrett walked away from Ridley once because he was scared she would break his heart but after the night they've just shared he can't bring himself to leave for a second time. Can he convince her to give him a second chance and even if he does will he be able to put his fears behind him enough to start a meaningful relationship?

I love second chance romances and I love dirty minded bad boys so Mistaken by Fate was right up my street. Garrett definitely ticks the dirty talker box and both he and Ridley get off on a little exhibitionism which leads to some incredibly erotic encounters between the two of them. I loved seeing them together, Garrett had a really sweet side but he was so scared of being hurt that he kept pushing Ridley away. I was pleased that Ridley didn't let him walk all over her, as much as she liked giving him control in the bedroom she didn't let him push her into anything she wasn't comfortable with and she was sensible enough to fight for what she needed too. I have to admit I was a little confused about their history, I could never quite work out if they'd been in an actual relationship before he left or whether they'd just been friends on the verge of something more. It wasn't the end of the world but I really would have liked a little more background and I think I would have found the end of the story a little more believable if they'd had more of a conversation about what had happened between them in the past. That was my only issue with the story though and I enjoyed everything else about it.

If you're looking for a story with a dirty minded hero and a heroine who is up for pretty much anything then you're bound to enjoy Mistaken by Fate. I'm definitely hoping that we get at least two more stories from Katee Robert in this series because I'm dying to know more about Garrett's twin brother Will and their younger sister Sara.

Review: Exposed by Fate - Tessa Bailey

He’ll train her to lure another man. She’ll lure him instead.

Review:
I love Tessa Bailey's Line of Duty series so I had high hopes for her new Serve series which is set around a BDSM club. Unfortunately I wasn't a huge fan of the first book but that was more down to the fact that I hated the heroine than anything else so I took a second chance and bought the second book too. I'm so glad I did because Exposed by Fate was everything I wanted from Owned by Fate and more, in fact I think I now have a new favourite Tessa Bailey hero in Oliver, he was absolutely fabulous!

Eliza is keen to explore her newly discovered submissive side but she's wary of testing the waters with a stranger when she has no real idea about what she will enjoy or what will be expected of her. Oliver is her best friend's older brother and as a playboy and a regular at Serve he would be the perfect person to teach her the art of submission. Her only fear is that she could end up getting her heart broken if she doesn't keep him at a distance. Oliver has craved Eliza for a long time but he knows he's not a one woman man and would never want to hurt her. The pair agree on three lessons thinking that will be enough for Eliza to learn what she needs to know but not long enough for either of them to get attached. What they don't expect is the instant, deep bond that they both feel and it's not long before they realise that the lessons are changing them both but will either of them be brave enough to admit that three lessons will never be enough?

Tessa Bailey has always excelled at her dirty talking heroes and Oliver is no exception to that, he is completely masterful in the bedroom (and the shower, and on the conference room table, and .. well you get the picture!) so we are treated to some completely knicker melting scenes that will leave you desperately needing a cold shower. Eliza may be inexperienced but inexperienced doesn't equal shy and she's more than willing to jump into her lessons with both feet. She has done her research and she trusts Oliver to always have her best interests at heart so she doesn't hesitate to accept anything he suggests. The two of them have fabulous chemistry but more than that they have a solid base of friendship and I loved the way Oliver was able to talk to Eliza about her fears and make her realise that there is nothing wrong with her desires. Eliza is a strong heroine, she loves to submit in the bedroom but in all other areas she is strong and feisty and more than capable of keeping Oliver on his toes, she is also the one person who believes in him. Oliver has always been on the outside looking in when it comes to his family, he's never felt good enough or that he could live up to their expectations but Eliza sees past that to the man he is inside and she helps him gain confidence in his business life which was great. I liked the balance between them and the fact that they are both better together than they were apart.

Exposed by Fate was a fab story and one I thoroughly enjoyed. If you're looking for a hot and spicy romance with plenty of dirty talk and a little exhibitionism you will love this one. I'll definitely be buying future books in the series as soon as they're available!
