Review:
The Christmas Truce is a short story set about three years before The Siren at a point when Nora and Kingsley are fighting with Soren and have pretty much cut him out of their lives. They both still love him though and Christmas gives them the perfect excuse to call a one night truce between them. As a huge fan of the Original Sinners series I love that Tiffany Reisz still gives fans little snapshots of her character's lives in her free short stories every Christmas.

This one was brilliant, I love these three together and there are some really heartfelt and emotional scenes between them. Of course this being an Original Sinners story means it's also incredibly hot and it just wouldn't be the same if the three of them hadn't ended up in Soren's bed! This may be a quick read but it packs a punch and it left me contemplating a reread of the series.

Review:
Mona made a promise on her mother's death bed to do whatever it took to keep their art gallery, The Red, open but no matter how hard she's tried she is finding it impossible to make ends meet. Her debts have been increasing and she's on the verge of having to sell when a mysterious man makes her a tempting offer. He will help her save The Red if she agrees to submit to him for one night a month over the next year. By the end of the year she'll be completely clear financially and he'll walk away, never to be seen again. She's not sure that's quite what her mother had in mind but Malcom is pretty irresistible so it wouldn't be a hardship to spend time with him, in fact she'd willingly do it for free, so she happily agrees. Soon Mona finds herself drawn into a whirlwind of pleasure beyond imagining where lines between fantasy and reality become blurred and she starts to wonder if it was all just a dream.

If you've ever read anything by Tiffany Reisz you'll already know she's the queen of erotica, she writes such incredibly sex scenes and is always pushing my boundaries. I actually thought she'd pushed me as far as she could throughout the Original Sinners series but she found completely new ways to boggle my mind in The Red. Mona and Malcom's early encounters are incredibly hot, every time they meet they recreate a scene from a famous painting and I enjoyed the amount of detail we were given and the scenes Malcom created for Mona. This book is basically a series of very long sex scenes so the plot outside those scenes is a little on the thin side but when I'm enjoying the smut that isn't an issue. Unfortunately it pushed just a few too many boundaries for me and there was a point in the book where I started crossing my legs in horror rather than getting turned on! I love that Tiffany isn't afraid to take risks but that does mean her stories aren't always going to work for every reader and this one pretty much lost me in the second half.

The mystery about who Malcom was and why he only visited Mona once a month before vanishing as quickly as he'd arrived kept me reading though and I thought that was resolved in a very clever way. The ending felt a little on the rushed side though, there are some huge revelations and everything seemed to wrap up a little too quickly and easily. I wanted more of an epilogue to see what happened beyond that but I guess that's the romance reader in me and this isn't really a romance, it's an erotic fantasy and on that level it hits the spot perfectly.

Review:
Flash is an artist who loves using her welding skills to create metal sculptures in her spare time. A girl's got to pay the bills though and she also enjoys her day job working as a welder for a local building company. Work got a little more interesting when Ian took over the role as her boss, she was attracted to him from the beginning and after a night out drinking with colleagues they ended up spending a scorching hot night together. Unfortunately for Flash Ian dumped her the following day and now things are extremely awkward between them.

Ian had been fantasising about Flash for months before they spent the night together but fraternisation with coworkers is strictly forbidden and as Flash's boss he has to set a good example to his workers. He regretted having to walk away but he was in a position of power over her and he refused to take advantage of it. Then Flash hands in her notice and Ian knows he can't let her walk out of his life, he just has to find a way to convince her to give him another chance.

Each of the books in the Men at Work series do work as stand alones so although I'd happily recommend all of them you can read them in any order you like, I would suggest reading the free prequel short story Ian's Dream Girl (which you can find on the Harlequin website) before starting One Hot December though. It lets readers see the first night that Flash and Ian spent together which is a nice bit of background information not included in this book which picks up the pieces six months of awkwardness later.

I've enjoyed all of the books in this series but I have to say that unfortunately this was the weakest of the three. I really liked both of the characters, it was great to see a woman who is so confident in herself and not intimidated by the men around her. Flash is a tattooed tomboy on the surface but she's so much more than that and it's always nice to read about multifaceted characters, she is someone you can easily imagine being friends with and that always makes me enjoy a story more. Ian is great too, I don't think he handled things very well after their one night stand but he does explain his actions and it was obvious he was trying to do the right thing. I liked how open they were with each other and that when there was a misunderstanding between them it wasn't dragged out into a load of unnecessary drama.

I think my main issue was that the banter between them felt a little forced in places. It was still fun to read and did make me smile at times but it was also very similar to the flirting between the first two couples in the series. Where it hit the spot perfectly in the first two books there was something just a tiny bit off in this one. I know that's a very vague complaint but I can't seem to find the words to clarify it better than that. This is still a fun read and overall I've absolutely loved the entire series, the books are all very light hearted, hilarious and sexy too. I'm a huge fan of Tiffany Reisz and she continues to be a must buy author for me. I can't wait to see what she comes up with next.

Review:
Ian's Dream Girl is a free online prequel to One Hot December, the third book in Tiffany Reisz's Men at Work trilogy. Each of the books can be read as stand alone stories because there are only brief mentions of previous characters and no spoilers but I would highly recommend reading Ian's Dream Girl before starting One Hot December. You can find it on the Harlequin website HERE so you've got nothing to lose by giving it a try.

This prequel is set six months before the start of One Hot December and it allows readers to see what happened between Ian and Flash when they're left alone together after a work night out and end up giving into the spark between them. It's a short but fun read and I just had to include my favourite quote for you:

“It takes a lot for a kiss to impress me.”

“Tell me what kind of kiss you like and maybe I have that in my repertoire.”

She shrugged. “A good kiss should be like a thunderstorm. First the air changes. You can feel the electricity in the atmosphere. Then there’s a rumble of thunder in the distance to warn you something big is coming. Everything gets a little darker, a little wilder. And then the lightning strikes and you know you’ve gotta run for it because shit’s about to get real. You think you can do that?”

Review:
I completely adore the Original Sinners series although I have to confess I've been putting off reading the last couple of books for a long time now because I just don't want the story to be over. I couldn't resist reading Something Nice though. This is a free novella (you'll get a copy by signing up for Tiffany Reisz's website) and it's set just after the end of The Siren when Nora has returned to Soren after a long absence.

Nora is struggling to fit back into her old life, she feels out of place in Soren's world and she's a little lost so Soren does a deal with her, she can have anything she wants from him and in return she has to do something nice for him too. Of course Nora's part of the bargain involves orgasms but she's confused when Soren's request is for her to attend the next church picnic. What follows is a really fun event that helps Nora remember why she always loved attending Soren's church. He gives her a way to reconnect with the parishioners who used to be her friends and helps her to realise that she's made the right decision coming back to him.

I enjoyed every minute of this novella and it just reminded me of how much I love the series. I think it's about time I finally got around to reading the last two books and I'm excited to see how things end for Nora, Soren and all my other favourite characters.

Review:
Clover is absolutely dreading hosting her family for Thanksgiving dinner, she built her own successful business and loves her life but her family are constantly criticizing her for not living up to their expectations. As far as they're concerned until she gets married and starts pushing out a few grandkids she's a complete failure. This year, thanks to some meddling on the part of her teenage assistant Ruthie, she decides she needs to find a fake boyfriend to help take some of the heat off. Ruthie thinks her dad is the perfect man for the job so she sets the two up before heading off to spend the holidays with her mother. Erick has been interested in Clover for over a year now but always considered her out of bounds because she works with his daughter, now that Ruthie has given him her blessing all bets are off though and he's more than happy to act as Clover's fake boyfriend - until he can convince her that he makes a much better real one.

I'm having so much fun reading this series, it's full of hilarious banter, great characters and hot sex so what's not to love? Tiffany Reisz excels at writing believable romances with characters you either fall in love with or want to be best friends with (possibly both at the same time!). Clover and Erick make such a great couple, they're both such caring personalities and their romance was incredibly sweet but they have amazing chemistry too and the sparks fly pretty much immediately. I loved the relationship they both had with Ruthie and she was a fantastic side character who added a lot of humour to the story.

Although Clover and Erick have both been crushing on each other for a long time I liked that they hadn't made a move on each other because they were worried about how Ruthie would be affected, Clover obviously cares a huge amount for Ruthie and she's going to make a fantastic step-mum. Erick and Ruthie's relationship was brilliant too and I loved that he was a single dad who did most of the full time parenting, he obviously has a very strong bond with his daughter and they had a lot of fun teasing each other.

I wasn't impressed with Clover's family though, they were all so mean to her and very snobby and judgemental when they first met Erick. I got really angry with the comments they kept coming out with and the way they kept putting Clover down so it was absolutely brilliant seeing her finally stand up for herself and I loved the way Erick had her back too. He wasn't shy standing up to her entire family in her defence and he did it in a way that showed them how completely unreasonable they were being.

Her Naughty Holiday was another fabulous read and I'm sure I'll be digging this series out every year for a little sexy holiday reading. I can't wait for December so I can pick up the last book in the series!

Trick or wicked treat!

It was a devastating dirty trick - Joey Silvia just found out her boyfriend of two years is married. What. A. Dick. Joey knows her best chance to get over one guy is to get under another. Review:
As a huge fan of Tiffany Reisz's Original Sinners series of course I wanted to read this new trilogy the minute I heard about it. I always know I'm in for a hot read with Tiffany's books but Her Halloween Treat was much lighter and more funny than her other series, it's still hot as hell but it's also full of humorous banter and an adorable romance. It's not often I give full 5 star ratings to contemporary romance stories, it takes something a bit special to get the top rating, but this story totally deserves it - it hit the spot perfectly and I enjoyed every single minute of it.

Joey decided to surprise her long-distance boyfriend when she was travelling home from Hawaii to Oregon for her brother's wedding so she stopped off in LA for a flying visit. Only to find him at home in the loving arms of his wife, yes that's right, her boyfriend of two years was already married, he just never bothered to mention the fact. Understandably heartbroken she heads to her family cabin early planning to lick her wounds alone before the wedding ceremony. What she wasn't expecting was to bump into her brother's best friend Chris when she got there. The nerdy boy she used to know has grown up into a total hottie and like her best friend is always saying "the best way to get over a man is to get under a new one" so she decides Chris is the perfect guy to have a holiday fling with before she's forced to go back to reality and working with her cheating ex.

I absolutely adored this couple, they have brilliant chemistry but they also have a strong friendship and a lot of history together. The banter between them was hilarious right from the get go and I could happily have read a book with double the number of pages just to spend more time with them. Chris always had a thing for Joey and now that she's finally noticed him he's going to do everything in his power to show her how good they'd be together on a permanent basis. I completely fell for the main couple but I also loved the side characters, Joey's best friend Kira was hilarious (please tell me she's going to get a book!) and I really loved her brother and his husband too.

Tiffany Reisz has another hit on her hand with this series and I can't wait to read the next two books!

Review:
It's no secret that I'm a huge fan of Tiffany Reisz and her Original Sinners series. I have been completely addicted to these books ever since I read The Siren and I'm incredibly invested in this world and it's characters. It'll probably come as a bit of a surprise to hear me say that I put off reading The King for a long time after I received a review copy but there was one particular event at the end of The Saint that absolutely devastated me. I desperately wanted to pretend that it hadn't happened and as much as I was hoping it would be proved incorrect in this book I had a horrible feeling that it wouldn't and I was scared to get that confirmation. It's so hard because I can't really go into detail because it's effectively a major spoiler but I was gutted by the way this thing turned out. It means we're going to be stuck with regular interaction with a couple of characters who I'm really not a fan of and in my mind it changes everything about the relationship between Nora and one of the men in her life. It's actually a testament to how fantastic Tiffany Reisz's writing is and how real these characters have become to me that I can feel quite so hurt by their actions!

Anyway, I put off starting The King because of the above and the opening chapter made me really nervous. It focuses on Kingsley having a conversation with one of the characters I don't really like and I thought for a minute they were going to end up the main focus of the book so I almost didn't want to carry on reading. Luckily I was quickly proved wrong and from the second that Kingsley starts talking about his very complicated history with Soren and Nora I was completely hooked. This book put me through an emotional wringer but apart from the very first and last chapters I absolutely loved every minute of it.

Kingsley has fascinated me since we first met him so I absolutely loved getting inside his head and seeing how he came to create the Eighth Circle was brilliant. I love seeing him and Soren together, they have such a rich and complicated history and it's one that has shaped both of them into the people they are now. I also enjoyed seeing Kingsley's early interactions with Nora and watching their friendship develop. A lot of the events in this book are things we've seen before but seeing them through Kingsley's eyes gives us a completely different insight into them. Tiffany Reisz is a master at manipulating her readers and giving us the truth in lots of small bite sized pieces so that everything only starts to come together to form the big picture when you've seen all sides of the story and I love that about her. This series is complex and utterly compelling with rich, three dimensional characters that I have very strong opinions about.

As much as a certain part of the storyline made me want to scream and throw my kindle across the room (I'm very lucky I didn't break it!) I still absolutely loved The King and think it's now my new favourite book in the series. The Original Sinners series is absolutely wonderful and I don't think I'll ever be able to get enough of it so I really hope Tiffany Reisz keeps it going for a long time to come.

Review:
The Last Good Knight is a serialised novella in Tiffany Reisz's Original Sinners series, it fits into the time line before The Siren but I wouldn't recommend reading any of the prequel novellas until you've read at least the first main book in the series so that you'll be familiar with the characters and their relationships with each other. This novella was published in five instalments (see list below) but I have chosen to review the story as a whole so I'm going to keep my discussions about the plot fairly vague and focus more on how I felt about it.

I have been a huge fan of this series from the get go, Tiffany Reisz has managed to pull me into her world so completely that I feel like she's actually writing from personal experience and that all of these characters really do exist out there somewhere. I can't think of any other series where all of the characters feel so real to me, even the ones we don't get to spend a lot of time with like the newbie in this story Lance.

I have to tell you how much I adored Lance, he was such a wonderful, sweet and caring guy and I really wanted him to find happiness more than anything. I was so angry with life for screwing him over the way it had and it was actually painful to see what he had to give up in order to get the one thing he'd been fighting for for such a long time. I know that sounds vague but like I said, I really don't want to give you spoilers and I'm sure once you've read the story you'll understand exactly what I mean. The chemistry he had with Nora was absolutely wonderful and I really did feel that they could have been perfect together so it was hard to see the world trying to pull them in different directions.

As with any story by this author The Last Good Knight is incredibly hot, and will definitely leave you fanning yourself. Tiffany Reisz never fails to turn up the heat and Nora doesn't like to be kept waiting so you know you're in for a treat when she's in full on Domme mode. Her relationship with Lance isn't just about sex though, there is so much more to it than that and they have a strong emotional connection too. The story also has plenty of drama, action and mystery as well as giving us glimpses of both Soren and Kingsley which always makes me happy. As much as I would have loved a full length novel staring Lance (and I kind of hope we'll get to see more of him in the future!) I still enjoyed every minute of this novella and it's helped tide me over until the release of the next full length novel. I don't think I'll ever get enough of this series so I hope we've got many more stories to come!

Review:
I may be a little obsessed with Tiffany Reisz and her Original Sinners, I really can't get enough of this world and the characters she has created. These books are just so addictive and they are always impossible to put down once I've started them. I've loved Nora from the beginning but have had more complicated feelings towards many of the other characters. Soren's sadism terrifies me but he is one of the most brilliant characters I've ever read about, no matter how wary I was of him in the beginning I had grown to love him throughout the previous books but in The Saint I finally understood exactly why Nora is so completely and utterly devoted to him.

Although we've learnt a lot about both Nora's and Soren's pasts in the previous books here we finally get to see the whole tale from the very beginning. The majority of this book is told in flashbacks and we get to see Soren through the eyes of 15 year old Eleanor. In the past I've found it kind of creepy that a 29 year old priest took such an interest in one of his young parishioners but seeing events unfold first hand shows that it really wasn't like that. In fact the relationship between Eleanor and Soren is something special and pure, something that she desperately needed at a time when she had no other person in her life who was there for her no matter what. In the beginning Soren is more of a father figure to her, someone who shows her the right path and steers her away from danger. Yes, the attraction is always there but Eleanor is well beyond her years emotionally and although she constantly pushes Soren for more he always keeps a sensible distance.

The flashbacks cover much of Nora's life between the ages of 15 and about 20 so we get to see not only her introduction to Soren but also the beginning of her friendship with Kingsley and I absolutely loved their interactions. There is so much more going on between the two of them than I ever realised before and it was great to see how much Kingsley helped her when she really needed him and Soren wasn't available. These three characters belong together in a way I can't even begin to describe, no matter what else happens or who else comes on the scene I'm convinced that the three of them will never, ever be far apart.

The Saint isn't just about the past though, it also picks up Nora's story about 6 months on from the end of The Mistress. I'm not going to tell you much about that part of the book because seeing what she was up to came as a complete surprise to me and I don't want to take that experience away from anyone. All I'm going to say is that we get to see much more of a character who has only been mentioned briefly in previous novels and I can't wait to see more of them in future books! I have a feeling they're going to be a very entertaining addition to the story and add plenty of additional spice.

I think it's fair to say that The Saint is my new favourite Tiffany Reisz book, I went through so many different emotions while reading it and I can't possibly hope to do this story justice in my review so I'll just say that fans of the series are going to LOVE this book. If you haven't started this series yet then I can't recommend it highly enough, it isn't a traditional romance but I guarantee you'll fall as madly in love with these characters as I have. These books are dark, they offer glimpses into a world that most of us would probably be too scared to step foot in but they are completely and utterly compelling and are always beautifully written.

Review:
After the shock ending of The Prince I'm so relieved that The Mistress was already available and I didn't have to wait before reading it. This story picks things up immediately after the previous one left off, Nora has been kidnapped by someone from Soren and Kingsley's past, someone who has a grudge against them both and who is determined to make them pay for their previous sins. The Prince is told from multiple points of view - Nora, Kingsley, Wesley, Grace and Laila (Soren's niece) - so you get to see the wider picture of events both in the present and in the past.

I actually really enjoyed getting to know Laila, it was interesting to see Soren & Nora through her eyes because she has grown up knowing all about their relationship. The only time Soren and Nora have ever been able to act like a normal couple is when they were visiting Soren's family in Denmark and I really enjoyed seeing them spending time together away from the Underground. I do think that in some ways Laila's character was a convenient way of resolving a certain issue with one of the other characters but overall because I liked the outcome of that it didn't bother me too much.

If I'm honest I'm not really sure why we needed Grace's point of view. I never really liked Zach all that much so didn't particularly care about Grace or feel that she had much to add to the situation Nora was in. She does the job of showing Soren in a different light but I really struggled to understand her motivations for certain things and I was left unsure about her relationship with Zach. As much as I didn't feel her point of view was needed I didn't mind reading the chapters about her, it wasn't until the horrible twist at the end of the book that I really resented her presence in the story. I really, REALLY hope that the implications at the end of the book are false - if it turns out to be true then I'm going to feel really betrayed and hurt on Nora's behalf and it's something that has been irritating me more and more the longer I think about it. Unfortunately I think I'm going to have to wait a long time to have my answers because the next few books (The White Years Quartet) are a prequel to the ones we've already had (The Red Years Quartet).

The sections I enjoyed the most were definitely Nora and Kingsley's. They both have such a long history, both together and with Soren, and I'm always fascinated to learn more about them. There is something so incredibly compelling about all three characters that although I don't always agree with their choices or even understand the things they do I can never resist learning more about them. Kingsley in particular is in a very difficult situation here, he is dealing with his mixed up feelings for Nora (does he love her because of what she has meant to him in the past or hate her because of the way Soren feels about her?) he is also facing someone from his own past who he never expected to see again and at the same time he's watching Soren fall apart because Nora is in danger. Kingsley is the one who has to try and keep a level head and make sure Soren doesn't risk everything to save the woman he loves. Unfortunately Kingsley also knows that he may be forced to do something that he will never, ever be able to recover from.

Soren has always scared the crap out of me (and his sadist tendencies still do!) but his character has really grown on me over the last couple of books. Learning more about his past and seeing him at school with Kingsley have helped me relate to his character and I have to confess to having a bit of a crush on him. I've loved seeing how tender and caring he can be towards Nora and I'm starting to understand why he has such a hold on her heart. In The Mistress Nora spends a lot of time reminiscing about her earlier years with Soren and her memories of both him and Kingsley. She also goes some way to explaining her feelings towards Wesley although I still struggle with the idea of them as a couple, to me they just don't fit together and it seems like Nora would have to change who she really is to keep Wesley happy.

Overall I'd say that The Mistress is just as addictive as the previous books in the series. Tiffany Reisz has a way of writing that pulls you into her story and makes you care about her characters and what happens to them. I'm so invested in Nora's story that there is no doubt I'll read anything this author writes about her. I want to see her find some kind of happy ever after, not necessarily a wedding and children kind of HEA because I'm not sure that is what Nora really wants, but definitely one where she is happy, loved and accepted for who she is.

Review:
I'm a huge fan of Tiffany Reisz's Original Sinners series, she writes such fabulous erotic stories and is an absolute queen of kink so I always know I'm in for a treat when I pick up one of her books. I have to be honest and admit that as much as I love this series I've put off reading The Prince for a long time because I wasn't really looking forward to seeing Nora run off with Wesley. It's not that I dislike Wesley but I've never felt that he is well suited to Nora so I wasn't as excited about this novel because of that. Luckily for me The Prince is split into three sections so only one third of the story is focused on Nora and Wesley and if I'd known that in advance I would probably have read this book much sooner.

The chapters rotate through the three different segments of the story in order which works really well because it's constantly building tension and leaving readers with mini cliffhangers as events switch to a different point of view and timeline. It's probably easier to talk about each section separately in this review but I'm going to deliberately keep details about the plot very vague to avoid giving spoilers.

I think my favourite part of the story was seeing Kingsley and Soren at school together, we have known for a long time that there is history between them but I absolutely loved getting to learn more about both of them. Seeing them meeting for the first time and watching their relationship develop was fascinating. Kingsley is a character that I've always loved and it was amusing to see that he was still a hit with the ladies even as a teenager. His feelings for Soren are completely new to him though and we get to see him discover a new side to himself - this is very much Kingsley's coming of age story. Soren is a character who has both fascinated and terrified me in equal measures since we first met him so I found it really interesting to see him as a teenager rather than as a fully grown man. Even his younger self is scary but I enjoyed learning more about his background and why he acts the way he does. I'm not saying his kink is entirely down to his upbringing but there are events in his past that definitely damaged him.

As well as seeing glimpses into Kingsley and Soren's past we also see them in the present. Someone is making threats against them and whoever it is they know all sorts of intimate details about them and the people in their circle. It looks like someone from their past is trying to stir up trouble but they are at a loss when it comes to figuring out who it is. I have to admit I was a little disappointed in Kinglsey in this part of the story, he comes across as very bitter about Soren's relationship with Nora and although he has good reason to be jealous I found him a little too brooding about it all. I guess I just missed the flirtatious façade he usually shows the world but I did still enjoy seeing how his relationship with Soren has changed and the way they interact with each other now.

I hadn't particularly been looking forward to the section about Nora and Wesley and I have to say that it was my least favourite part of the story. Not because it wasn't well written because is is - this is more a case of "it's not you, it's me". I just really have no interest in reading about Wesley's rich family and their horse racing circle and I find that even Nora starts to bore me when she's around him. He's a nice kid but that's how I see him - as a kid. I love this series for it's kinksters and for Nora's crazy sexual escapades and I'm afraid sweet, virginal Wesley just doesn't do it for me no matter how nice I think he is. I'd much rather see him with pretty much anyone else and for Nora to be back in the underground with Soren where she belongs!

Although there were parts of the story I didn't enjoy as much as the rest this is still a fab instalment to the series. There is so much going on with the person who is making threats towards Soren and I couldn't turn the pages fast enough to find out what would happen next. The book ends on a killer of a cliffhanger so I'm actually grateful that I left it so long to read The Prince - it meant I didn't have to wait months for the release of The Mistress, in fact I've already made a start on it!
