Books Purchased / Given:

I had an amazing this week - all of these books & I only actually brought one of them!

1. Darkfever by Karen Marie Moning - this was my naughty ebay purchase and came highly recommended.  I'm looking forward to starting this series.
2. Unseen Academicals by Terry Pratchett - my Dad and I are both massive Terry Pratchett fans so when he saw the new book on a 2 for 1 deal he picked us both up a copy
3. First 12 books in the Anita Blake series by Laurell K Hamilton - I happened to mention this series to my friend and her husband who got fed up with the series gave me the first 12 books.  I couldn't believe it when he dropped them around for me - it was like Christmas!  I've heard mixed things about this series, my friend got fed up after book 12 so didn't read any further but I'm still keen to give them a try.
4. First 2 books in the Meredith Gentry series by Laurell K Hamilton - These were an extra bonus from the same friend who gave me the Anita Blake books.  I hadn't actually heard of this series before so I'm curious to find out what it's about.

Library Finds:

I was hoping that my reservation for the third book in the Riley Jenson series would come in this week but it hasn't so hopefully I won't have to wait to much longer.  Other than that I'm trying not to get any other library books at the moment - I really need to try and read through the ones I've alread got!

For Review:

1. Trash by Andy Mulligan - Thanks to RHCB for sending this one for review.  I hadn't heard of it before but the description sounds really good.
2. Angel by L.A. Weatherly - Thanks to Usborne for sending this one - it is the first book in a new trilogy and it looks amazing!  I can't wait to start it but since it isn't out until October I'll probably wait until a bit closer to the release date before I review it.
3. Shade by Jerry Smith-Ready - Thanks to Simon & Schuster, I've heard so many good things about this on the blogosphere that I can't wait to dig in & read it.
4. Claire de Lune by Christine Johnson - Thanks again to Simon & Schuster - this is another one I've heard a lot about & am really looking forward to reading!
5. Best Friends Forever by Jennifer Weiner - This was another surprise from Simon & Schuster, I've actually read another book by Jennifer Weiner a few years ago & really enjoyed it so I'm sure this will be a good summer read.
6. Dear Dylan by Siobhan Curham - Thanks so much to Siobhan for sending me this for review, it is a novel written entirely in the form of emails so I'm very curious to see how the story comes across.
7. Ex Appeal by Cari Quinn - Thanks to Cari for sending me a copy of her newest ebook.  I've heard fab things about the first book in this series & am looking forward to reading this.

I failed at my book buying ban again this week but I had some credit on my paypal account so couldn't resist making some purchases on eBay!

1. Angels Blood by Nalini Singh - I've seen so many good reviews of this series on other blogs & I'm really looking forward to giving it a try
2. Dark Warrior Unleashed by Alexis Morgan - I've not heard much about this series but it looks good so I thought I'd give it a try.
3. Guilty Pleasures by Laurell K. Hamilton - I've been wanting to start the Anita Blake series for ages & I finally got around to buying book 1.
4. The Knife of Never Letting Go by Patrick Ness - This book was raved about by Lynsey and some of the other bloggers at the UK Blogger meet up so I'm sure I'll enjoy this one.

Library Finds:

I didn't get around to posting my mailbox last week so this haul is actually 2 weeks worth but either way I'm quite impressed with my haul :o)

1. At Grave's End by Jeaniene Frost - I absolutely love this series so can't wait to dig into my next Bones fix!
2. Speak of the Devil by Jenna Black - I ordered this book from the Morgan Kingsley series quite a while ago so I'm looking forward to reading the next installment.
3. Bound to Shadows & Embraced by Darkness by Keri Arthur - I'm really enjoying the Riley Jenson series & ordered the rest of the series from the library but I'm still waiting for book 3 to come in which means I can't read any of the others yet.

For Review:

1. Impossible by Nancy Werlin - Received from International Book Tours, I've only got a week to read this before I need to send it on so this one has jumped right to the top of my TBR pile
2. Sing Me To Sleep by Angela Morrison - Another one from International Book Tours so this will also be one I'm reading this week
3. Star Crossed by Jo Cotterill - Thanks to RHCB for sending me this one for review.

OK I confess, I broke my book buying ban!  Well actually my Dad brought these for me so these don't really count right?  Anyway, I couldn't resist getting The Short Second Life of Bree Tanner & Wintercraft and I'm looking forward to reading them both.

Library Finds:

I didn't get around to posting my mailbox last week so this haul is actually 2 weeks worth but either way I'm quite impressed with my haul :o)

1. One Foot in the Grave by Jeaniene Frost - I've already read this one so look out for the review tomorrow.  I am absolutely head over heals in love with Bones & can't wait to continue reading this series!!
2. Blood Promise by Richelle Mead - I only started reading the Vampire Academy series last week & I love it, it's definitely my favorite YA vampire series so I can't wait to start reading this one.
3. Radiant Shadows by Melissa Marr - I read the first 3 Wicked Lovely books last year before I started blogging so I had planned on re-reading them to review before reading Radiant Shadows but I couldn't resist picking it up when I spotted it in the library
4. Dangerous Games, The Darkest Kiss & Deadly Desire by Keri Arthur - I'm really enjoying the Riley Jenson series so I thought I'd grab the ones I've not read while I saw them.  There are books in between these that I've not read yet so it might be a while before I get around to reading them but I've reserved the ones I need so hopefully they won't take too long to turn up.
5. Nauti Boy & Wild Card by Lora Leigh - I can't remember who recommended Lora Leigh to me but I know I've heard good things about her so I reserved the first books from 2 of her different series to give her a try.
6. Gale Force by Rachel Caine - I really like the Weather Warden series but its obviously popular with my library as I'd reserved it months ago.  I can't wait to read it now I've finally got my hands on it..

For Review:

I've had quite a few eBooks for review this week & I'm looking forward to reading them all!

1. Comfort Food by Kitty Thomas - Thanks to Kitty for sending me this for review, I finished reading it this morning & really enjoyed it.  I'll have the review posted in a couple of days.

I was very excited to win J.A. This is the second week I've managed to stick to my book buying ban - will I be able to keep it up for another week?

Library Finds:

I'm determined not to look around the library until I've returned some of the books I already have but I'd reserved book 3 in the GhostWalkers series - Night Game by Christine Feehan.  I'm really enjoying this series so I'm looking forward to reading this one!

For Review:

I had a busy week for review books this week but I got a great selection & I can't wait to start reading them all!

1. I received the ARC of Low Red Moon by Ivy Devlyn that I'm organising a UK book tour for (click here to sign up).  I believe the UK release date for this is February 2011 but it will be out in the US in September.  I will be reading this one ASAP & then it will be being sent off on the UK tour.  Thanks to Ivy for sending this one.
2. Thanks to RHCB for the review copies of Forbidden by Tabitha Suzuma and Tall Stories by Candy Gourlay - these both look like great reads!
3. Thanks to Hodder & Stoughton for the ARC of My Name is Memory by Ann Brashares - this is described as having the power and intensity of The Time Traveller's Wife and the passion of Twilight & I can't wait to read it.
4. I'd also like to thank Devyn Quinn for sending me an ebook ARC of Siren's Call - this comes out in paperback in the UK on the 28th October.  I've not read anything with mermaids in before so I'm looking forward to giving this a try!
5. I'm looking forward to reading the 3 novellas Kept, Claimed & Mated that make up the first book of the Preternaturals series by Zoe Winters.  Kept can be downloaded for free from Zoe's website here and Claimed is also available.  The 3 novellas will be released as 1 book called Blood Lust soon.  Thank you Zoe for sending me these novellas for review - I can't wait to start this series!

Won:

I was very excited to win an ARC copy of The Reapers are the Angels by Alden Bell from publisher Tor in a Twitter giveaway.  This is out in the UK in September & looks like it's going to be a great read.

I impressed myself and managed to stick to my book buying ban this week!  I wonder how long that will continue for LOL.

Library Finds:

After both Jo and Lynsey raved about the Night Huntress series at the UK YA blogger meet up last week I had to order book 1 from the library.  I'm looking forward to trying Halfway to the Grave, Jeaniene Frost is a new author for me but I've heard a lot of great things about this series.

For Review:

1. I was very excited to receive a copy of The Demon's Covenant by Sarah Rees Brennan and Passing Strange by Daniel Waters from Simon & Schuster for review this week.  I'm already reading both of these series so I'm looking forward to finding out what happens next - thanks S&S!
2. I'm also looking forward to reading Guardian of the Dead by Karen Healey that I received as part of a book tour arranged by International Book Tours
3. I'd also like to thank RHCB for sending me a copy of Dido by Adele Geras, I have Adele dropping by to take part in my new Author's Animal Antics feature in a couple of weeks so I'm going to review Dido at the same time and there may even be a giveaway included (hint, hint LOL)
4. I'm taking part in a book tour for The Moonstone Legacy by Diana de Gunzburg and Tony Wild in June so thank you to Pushkin Press for sending me a review copy of this book.

1. I was really excited to win a copy of Rosemary & Rue by Seanan McGuire from Alyssa, Jake & Gregory at Teens Read and Write.  This is book 1 in the October Daye series and I've heard really good things about it, I actually won a copy of book 2 a while ago so this has been on my purchase list and it came in really handy winning a copy as I'm on a buying ban.
2. I also won a copy of The Adoration of Jenna Fox by Mary E Pearson from Walker Books in a giveaway they did on Twitter.  It looks great & I'm looking forward to reading it.
3. I was also really happy to win a copy of Night Pleasures by Sherrilyn Kenyon from Stella at Ex Libris.  I now have the first 3 books in the Dark Hunters series in my TBR pile - I've heard so much about this series & I'm looking forward to giving it a try.

London YA Book Bloggers Meet Up:
I had such an amazing week this week it's hard to know where to start!  I think I'll begin with yesterday's haul from the London YA Blogger meet up that was organised by Jo from Once Upon A Bookcase.  I had such a great time at the meet up - it was lovely to meet other bloggers and spend the afternoon chatting about books!  I'll be writing a post all about the meet up & hopefully get it posted tomorrow.

Thank you to Jo from Once Upon A Bookcase for copies of Lover Mine by J.R. Ward and Moon Sworn by Keri Arthur.  I can't wait to read these!!  Also thanks to Becky from The Bookette for copies of Magic Under Glass by Jaclyn Dolamore, Captivate by Carrie Jones and The Gypsey Crown by Kate Forsythe. 

I think I can speak for all of the other bloggers too when I say how surprised and excited I was when we were given an ARC of Torment by Lauren Kate by Random House!  I want to say a massive thank you to the Lauren & Kelly from Random House for coming out to meet us and especially for bringing us such a lovely gift!!  I also had to do a happy dance when Lynsey from Narritively Speaking offered to lend me her ARC of Linger by Maggie Stiefvater!!!  Thank you so much Lynsey - I can't wait to read Linger & it will definitely be coming back to you by recorded delivery so it doesn't go missing in the post :o)

What an amazing day - it was like Christmas with all the wonderful books I received - the only trouble I'm going to have is deciding what to read first!

Books Purchased:

I'm trying to be good and stick to my book buying ban but I've just started doing voluntary work for my local Cancer Research shop & I couldn't resist picking up the Night Angel Trilogy by Brent Weeks for Ant.  It looks really good and was a bargain lol.

Gifts:

I met up with a friend I haven't seen in a while & was given a late birthday present of His Darkest Hunger by Juliana Stone and Leaving Paradise by Simone Elkeles.  I actually forgot what books I'd mentioned to her that I wanted so I've already read both of these but you know what that means - giveaway time!  I've been planning a big giveaway for when I reach 150 followers so these are both going to be added to the prize pile & I'm happy I'm going to be able to share both of these fantastic books!

Library Finds:

I wasn't planning on picking up any more library books either but one of my reservations (Kissing Sin the second book in the Riley Jenson series by Keri Arthur) had come in and when I spotted they had the first 3 books in the Vampire Academy series by Richelle Mead I couldn't resisit them either.

For Review:

1. I'm taking part in a UK book tour for Forget You by Jennifer Echols that has been organised by Dwayne from Girls Without A Bookshelf - this looks really good and Dwayne gave it a great review so I'm really looking forward to reading it!
2. I received a copy of Fallen by Lauren Kate from Random House along with a very special ARC of Torment (see above) - I've heard such great things about Fallen & I can't wait to read both of these!
3. I also received a copy of Lonestar Homecoming by Colleen Coble from the Booksneeze blogger review program

Won:

I received Voices in the Dark by Catherine Banner and Crawlers by Sam Enthoven after winning a giveaway at Book Chick City.  These aren't the kind of books I'd usually pick up but the both look really interesting and I'm looking forward to giving them a try.

Books Purchased:

I tried to stick to my book buying ban but ended up purchasing 1 book - I suppose it could have been worse though LOL.  I've heard so many great things about Sherrilyn Kenyon's Dark Hunters series & I had picked up book 3 a while ago when I saw it on sale.  I won a giveaway this week which allowed me to pick any book from Book Depository so I ended up purchasing book 1 (Fantasy Lover) and choosing book 2 (Night Pleasures) as the giveaway prize.

Library Finds:

After completely filling up my library card last week I wasn't planning on getting any books out this week but then 4 of the books I had on reservation ended up coming in so I had to collect them.  The ones I picked up this week were Succubus Shadows by Richelle Mead, Dead if I Do by Tate Hallaway, Oceans of Fire by Christine Feehan and the On The Prowl anthology with Patricia Briggs, Karen Chance & Eileen Wilks.  I've had to use my Dad's library card & now have a total of 16 library books waiting to be read so I think that is something I'm going to have to concentrate on doing this week LOL. 

For Review:

I was really excited to receive a copy of Darkness Calls by Marjorie M. Liu this week, this is the second book in the Hunters Kiss series & I really enjoyed the first book The Iron Hunt which I reviewed a couple of weeks ago.  I'd like to thank Orbit for sending me both of these books for review.

Library Finds:

I had a great trip to the library this week, I only went in to collect Penumbra by Keri Arthur (the last book in the Spook Squad series) but ended up with time to kill so I did a little browsing.  I managed to find the first 3 books in the Mercy Thompson Series by Patricia Briggs and the first 5 books in the Immortals After Dark Series by Kresley Cole - I've heard great things about both of these series so I'm looking forward to getting started!

Competition Prizes:

I love this House of Night tote bag that I won from Atom Books in a giveaway they had on Twitter, it's a fab series that I'm hoping to re-read & review soon.  I also won a copy of ebook Payback in Wayback by Lynda Coker from the Blogmania giveaway at Between The Pages - I love a good cowboy story so I'm looking forward to reading this one!

For Review:

I recieved a paperback copy of Hush, Hush by Becca Fitzpatrick from Simon & Schuster, I've already reviewed the hardback here but was planning on buying the paperback so I was very happy to have it sent to me.  I'll be doing a giveaway for my hardback copy very soon.

I was also really excited when Laura Stamps sent me the 3rd volume of her novel A Vampire's Kiss for review - I've really enjoyed the first 2 volumes and am looking forward to finding out what happens next.

Books Purchased:

I'm currently trying to get caught up with the Otherworld series by Kelley Armstrong so I brought a couple of books in the series Haunted and Broken - I think I still need to buy a couple more but I've got quite a few to keep me going now.  I'm definitely back on a book buying ban until I've managed to reduce my TBR pile a bit - I wonder how long I'll manage to last this time?

4. Dead Until Dark by Charlaine Harris and a fab Sookie Stackhouse pen from Jon at Orion Books - again I've been wanting to read the Sookie series for ages but haven't started it yet
5. Crux by Moira Rogers eBook from Bree (one of the Moira Rogers duet).  This is the first book in the Southern Arcana series which I've heard a lot of fab things about so it's another one I can't wait to read.

I've had such an amazing week this week for giveaways & these are all books I can't wait to read.  All I need to do now is figure out a way to read 5 books a day and I'll have a chance of getting through my TBR pile LOL.

For Review:

I recieved a copy of The Darkest Room by Johan Theorin from Transworld Publishers and it sounds like it's going to be a really creepy thriller and I'm sure I'll enjoy it.
