Review:
I've been a massive fan of the GhostWalker series since I first started reading it and I really liked Kane when we met him in the last book so I was looking forward to his story.  I have to admit I found myself a bit disappointed with Ruthless Game though and don't think it managed to live up to my expectations.  There were a couple of points early on when I really wanted to slap Kane for his attitude to Rose.  When he starts complaining that surely even a pregnant woman should be able to walk a mile without getting out of breath I wanted her to push him of the edge of a cliff.  At this point Rose is eight months pregnant, has just been chased across rooftops, had to jump out of a moving car and they're now marching across the dessert trying to escape the bad guys - give the woman a break!  I know she's a GhostWalker with enhanced abilities but I'd say that was pretty impressive when according to him she looks "as big as a beach ball".  Charming huh?

I'll admit he grew on me once they found a hideout and you started to see how nervous he was about her pregnancy.  I laughed quite a lot when he told her just to stop her contractions and there were some very sweet moments between them when the baby was born.  I really enjoyed watching them bonding together as a family and it was good to see more of Kane's team working together to protect Rose and the baby.  What I didn't really enjoy was the sex scenes - there was far too much reference to leaking breast milk for my tastes and I had to wonder if someone who had only given birth a few weeks ago would really be up for being woken up several times a night because Kane was ready for some action.  Between Kane's demands and breast feeding the baby I don't see when Rose would have had time to sleep so it was quite a shock when she insists on starting training again so soon.

There were some very good action scenes that had me on the edge of my seat but there were a few times when things seemed a bit disjointed.  It felt a bit like the author tried to add too many different plot lines to the story, there were threats from so many different angles that the characters never had time to breathe.  I also felt that a certain letter from Dr Whitney was completely out of character and unbelievable but perhaps it'll prove to have been another one of his lies if a future book.  At times the story seemed to fast forward several weeks but I was never quite able to work out how much time had passed or figure out the age of the baby.

While we're on the subject of the baby I have to say how creepy I found it (sorry to say "it" but I don't want to give spoilers of whether it was a girl or a boy).  I knew that with GhostWalker parents the baby was going to have some interesting abilities but I think it was taken a bit too far considering it's only a few weeks old.  There was a scene that included 4 GhostWalker babies (Rose & Kane's baby, Lily & Ryland's baby and Jack & Briony's twins) that was uber freaky and made them appear far from human.  Where I was intrigued to find out more about the next generation of GhostWalkers now I think I'd rather wait until they at least hit toddler age before I see them again.

So I didn't love Ruthless Game but it wasn't a terrible book, I think I just have such high expectations for this series that it is easy to end up feeling disappointed.  I'm definitely looking forward to reading the next book Samurai Game which I'm hoping will be Javier's story.  I do think it is getting to the point that this series is ready to come to a close though, or at least we need to have the ongoing plot involving Whitney brought to some kind of resolution and move things in a different direction.

Review:
I'm a big fan of Christine Feehan's GhostWalkers series but I would definitely recommend reading the series in order because you would be missing a lot of back story to pick up the series starting with Street Game (which is actually book 8).  I have to admit that I was a bit confused when I picked this one up and realised that Christine has now moved on to the third group of GhostWalkers.  It's not that I don't like the new group, more that there are still so many characters from the first 2 groups that I've been hoping to find out more about!  I was disappointed to find that there was no interaction with any of the members of the previous two groups throughout the whole book, in fact the only cross over to make it part of the same series is that the bad guy is still Doctor Whitney and he still has a whole host of unknown people helping cover his tracks and allowing him to continue his illegal and immoral experiments.

Mack and his team have a much stronger bond than the first two teams of GhostWalkers, they all grew up on the streets together and have had each others backs since they were children.  They know each other inside out, can predict how everyone else thinks and will react in different situations and they have a great rapport which allows for a lot of fun banter between them.  Jaimie was part of their group as a child and joined the GhostWalker program alongside them but when she left Mack two years ago she abandoned the rest of the team as well.  They all think of her as a sister so when Mack stumbles back into her life she not only has to deal with her very alpha and controlling ex who wants her back but she also has a bunch of protective older brothers on her case.  I liked Jaimie but I do think she caved in too easily to the demands of Mack and the others, I would have liked to see her stand up for herself a bit more.  I alternated between wanting to slap Mack and wanting to hug him.  At times he absolutely drove me insane and if I could have shook some sense into him I would have done but then he'd show a softer, more vulnerable side that melted me just a little bit.

I really hope that we're going to get some kind of resolution to the Whitney plot line soon, I'm starting to have trouble keeping up with who the bad guys are, which GhostWalkers are part of which team and all the evil deeds that the doctor has committed.  It would be nice to see Christine Feehan move the series in a slightly different direction now.  The story has left things set up nicely for Kane's story (which is up next in Ruthless Game) but I'm also curious to find out more about Jaimie's friend Joe and I'd love to see more of Javier too.  What I'd really like in the next book is some more interaction with the previous two teams though, I want to know how all the other couples are getting on and it would be good to have everyone working together for some kind of big show down but I guess I'll have to wait and see if that happens.

Street Game seemed to focus a little less on the romance than some of the more recent books have which isn't necessarily a bad thing but I would have liked a little more than we got.  I also found the plot moved a bit slower than normal.  There seemed to be a lot of sitting around and waiting for something to happen and the only thing that stopped me from getting bored was the banter amongst the team the fact I was getting to know a new set of characters.  This wasn't my favourite book in the series but it was still an enjoyable installment and I'm looking forward to finding out what happens next.

Review:
When a spate of murders across the country look like they have been committed by GhostWalkers Kaden is given the task of tracking down the killers and eliminating them.  He doesn't believe his friends could be the murderers but if they are to blame he will have to take them down, unsure where to turn for help he decides to contact Tansy who has been known to help the police track down serial killers with her psychic abilities.  Tansy has always suffered from a powerful backlash when she uses her abilities and after the last case she worked on left her in a psychiatric ward suffering from a breakdown she decided enough was enough.  She told all her contacts that she has lost her ability and took to the wilderness to become a wildlife photographer, avoiding human contact as much as possible.  Kaden doesn't believe her ability has gone and one way or another he is going to get her help.

I'm a big fan of Christine Feehan's GhostWalker series and Murder Game didn't disappoint.  As the series progresses we are discovering more about Whitney and the crazy schemes he has put into place, he may be a genius but he certainly isn't a sane one.  I'm beginning to wonder how the GhostWalkers will ever be able to track him down and put a stop to his experiments - he seems to be at least 10 steps ahead of them every time.  I'd recommend reading the series in order to make the most of that ongoing story line but I think each of the books can be read as stand alone stories when it comes to the relationship between the main characters.

Tansy is probably one of my favourite heroines in the series, she has the ability to touch an object and read the thoughts of the people who have held it in the past.  Despite the fact that using this ability causes her a lot of pain and she is never able to get the thoughts of the killers or their victims out of her head she has been helping the police since she was just 13 years old.  Knowing that she will feel the pain of the victims with every murder she investigates she is incredibly brave to keep putting herself through so much suffering in order to track down the murderers.

Kaden has no idea of the toll Tansy's abilities take on her when he first asks for her help.  He is infuriated that she refuses to assist him and finds a way to trick her into touching an object found at one of the murder scenes.  After seeing how much she suffers he realises that he can't ask her to help him further but once Tansy has started an investigation she refuses to stop no matter what the risks are.  Whenever we've seen Kaden in previous books he has been shown as an ice cold, emotionless killer but as soon as he sees Tansy you start to see him thaw.  He is quick to accept that Whitney has genetically paired them and he becomes surprisingly protective of her.  My only irritation was the fact that he constantly wanted to take control of every situation, I'd have liked to see Tansy stand up for herself a bit more but this did improve towards the end of the book.

If you've read any of the other books in this series then you'll know to expect plenty of hot smut and although Murder Game has a lot of violence it also has some great sex scenes that certainly raise the heat levels.  I loved the fact that we get to spend time with some of the GhostWalkers we've already met in previous books, it was nice to find out how Ryland, Gator & Nico are doing and I'm really hoping that we get to see Jeff and Ian's stories soon.  If you're a GhostWalker fan you're sure to enjoy this installment and I can't wait to pick up Street Game to find out what happens next.

Review:
Saber has been in hiding and on the run for a long time trying to stay out of the clutches of Dr Whitney.  She has been living with Jesse for nearly a year but although she has started to have feelings for him she knows she should be moving on again soon if she wants to stay safe.  Jesse is a GhostWalker who was injured on a job and now works in the background unable to go on missions in his wheelchair.  He knew Saber was on the run but assumed it was from a violent husband, neither of them had the slightest idea of the other's GhostWalker abilities.  When they start to realise each other's powers they are both immediately suspicious thinking the other is out to capture them.  In the months they have spent together they may have both started to develop feelings towards each other but can they put their suspicions to one side long for enough to learn to trust each other?

Predatory Game is the sixth book in the GhostWalker series and although the romance between Saber and Jesse makes it a standalone story I would highly recommend reading the series in order.  If you start with this book you'll miss a lot of the background story surrounding the GhostWalkers and their abilities not to mention the conspiracy against them that they are only just beginning to get to the depths of.  I suspect that Dr Whitney has a lot more surprises up his sleeve and I can't wait to see how things play out in the rest of the books.  Although this is a paranormal romance series I would definitely also class it as a thriller as there is plenty of action going on alongside the romance.

One of the things I love most about this series is that although the heroes definitely have an inbuilt need to protect their heroines the heroines are anything but damsels in distress.  In fact they all have abilities that make them formidable in their own rights and Saber probably has the most dangerous powers of any of them so far.  I don't want to spoil anything for you by telling you what her abilities are so you'll have to read the story to find out so I'll just say I really enjoyed seeing what she was capable of.  I also loved the fact that she wanted to protect Jesse and was willing to put herself in danger to do so. 

Jesse may be in a wheelchair but he is dangerous in his own right, his GhostWalker abilities make him far from helpless and as an ex Navy Seal he certainly has the killer instinct.  He is tough and protective but at times he could be incredibly sweet and I'd dare any woman to resist him.  I thought they made a perfect couple and was routing for Jesse to break down Saber's defences.

The ongoing story of the GhostWalkers has me hooked and I can't wait to pick up the next book in the series.  Christine Feehan has created a terrifyingly brilliant but completely insane villain and I have no idea how they are going to be able to stop him.  I'm also fascinated by the various abilities the GhostWalkers all have and am curious to see what else she will throw at us in future books.  If you haven't started reading this series yet get hold of a copy of Shadow Game asap - you won't regret it!

Review:
Ken and his twin brother Jack are on a mission to protect a politician when they come under attack from what is clearly another group of GhostWalkers.  Determined to carry out their job Ken shoots the sniper from the other team but is surprised to find he didn't make a successful kill.  When they discover the sniper is Mari (the twin sister of Jack's wife Briony) they capture her and take them with her.  While Ken and Jack try to discover if Mari is working for the enemy Mari is desperately trying to escape to get back to the compound she was raised in and protect the rest of her team.

Deadly Game is the 5th book in the GhostWalker series and I would strongly recommend reading the series in order to get the full enjoyment of the back story of the GhostWalkers.  I'm really enjoying this series and I would highly recommend it to paranormal romance fans - especially if you like an action packed story full of conspiracy theories.

I have loved each of the GhostWalkers in the series and have been looking forward to reading Ken's story since I learnt more about him in Conspiracy Game (the book about his twin Jack).  Jack had become my favorite hero of the series and I wasn't expecting to like Ken even more but I just couldn't resist him.  We already know from previous books that Ken was badly tortured when he was captured in the Congo and he is still suffering from severe physical and emotional scarring.  Although he has always been known as the most friendly of the twins things are very different underneath the surface, Ken may put on a good front but that's all it is.  He struggles against the same demons as Jack and this has only become worse since he was captured.

Mari has had a very different upbringing from her sister Briony.  She was raised in a compound along with other GhostWalkers and only allowed to leave when she was on a mission.  Things have become a lot harder for her and the others she was brought up with recently but I can't say any more about why without giving spoilers.  I really liked the strength and loyalty we see from Mari, she cares so much about her sister and the people she was raised with and has suffered a great deal to try and keep them safe.  Although she has strong feelings for Ken she is scared to act on them because of the circumstances.  The heat between them is fantastic though and I loved watching the two of them together.

If you've read other books in the series you'll be expecting a fast paced story line and Deadly Game won't disappoint.  It is somewhat darker than the previous books and does include some quite detailed descriptions of the torture that Ken suffered but I felt that this was needed to show how Ken ended up in the place he's at now emotionally.  I enjoyed getting to see Jack and Briony again and we also get to see a little of the other GhostWalkers which is one of the things I enjoy most about an ongoing series.  Things are really hotting up when it comes to the ongoing plot with the GhostWalkers trying to uncover what Dr Whitney has been up to and I'm looking forward to seeing what happens next.

If you're new to this series then I'd highly recommend you give it a try but make sure you start with book 1 Shadow Game.  If you're already reading the series and you enjoyed Jack's book then I'm sure you're going to love Ken just as much if not more.

Review:
When Jack goes on a mission with the GhostWalkers to rescue his brother he ends up captured by rebel forces.  He is going to need all of his enhanced psychic skills to escape from his enemies before he suffers even more torture at their hands.  When he first meets Briony he realises immediately that she is a GhostWalker with abilities very similar to his own but it soon becomes clear that she doesn't know much about her skills and how she obtained them.  With their enemies closing in on them - wanting to capture Briony for sinister purposes - Jack is the only one she can trust to keep her safe.  But the conspiracy goes deeper than either of them could have suspected and they are going to need all the help they can get to survive.

Conspiracy Game is the 4th book in the GhostWalker series and although it can be read as a stand alone story in terms of Jack and Briony as a couple I would strongly recommend reading the story in order to get the full enjoyment of the back story of the GhostWalkers.  This is a series that I'm really enjoying and I'd highly recommend it to all fans of supernatural romance.

Although I've loved all of the GhostWalker heroes Jack quickly became my favorite - he is one sexy alpha male!  He is a man who keeps himself to himself, someone that even the other GhostWalkers are wary of and the only person he is close to is his twin Ken.  There is a darkness inside him because of things he saw and did in his past but he is also has a soft centre and is very caring.  He is frightened of his feelings for Briony and doesn't feel that he is good enough for her but when she turns to him for help he will do anything to protect her and keep her safe.

Briony is the perfect heroine for him - she has grown up with 4 protective brothers and knows how to deal with a domineering alpha male.  While she lets him get away with a lot she is definitely able to stand up for herself when she needs to.  I really enjoyed the chemistry between her & Jack and also loved watching them both with Ken - I can't wait to read his story which is the next book in the series!  The ongoing story with the GhostWalkers and the evil genius Dr Whitney is getting really interesting and I'm looking forward to seeing how things play out in the rest of the series.  It is quite clear that Dr Whitney has been doing some major plotting and I'm not sure what the consequences will be for Lily and the others.

If you're new to this series then I'd highly recommend you give it a try but make sure you start with book 1 Shadow Game.  If you're already reading the series then I dare you not to fall for Jack when you read this installment - he really is irresistible!

Review:
When Gator is asked to return home to the Bayou to investigate the disappearance of a family friend Lily has another task for him.  She has reason to believe that Iris (known as Flame), one of the girls Dr Whitney experimented on as a child, is in the area.  Gator is the only GhostWalker with psychic abilities to match Flame's so it is up to him to track her down.  Flame has every reason not to trust Lily or any of the other GhostWalkers so it's going to take all of Gator's charm to bring her round.

Although Night Game is the third book in the GhostWalkers series I think you could easily read this as a stand alone story.  However, I'm really enjoying this series so I'd definitely recommend reading the books in order starting with Shadow Game.  I think Night Game was probably my favorite book in the series so far, it will take you on a complete roller coaster of emotion laughing one minute and close to tears the next.  I think Christine Feehan managed to create the perfect blend of action and romance along with some great bedroom action.

I really loved Gator - he is charming, funny and sexy as hell.  He fell for Flame hard and wasn't afraid to show his feelings despite her reluctance to get involved.  I loved the banter between him, his brother and the other GhostWalkers and they had me laughing quite a few times.  Another great character was his Grandmother - all I'm going to say is watch out for the bag she gives to Flame, hilarious! 

Flame was a great heroine, she was strong and tough and prepared to stick up for herself but at the same time she had a vulnerable side and my heart went out to her.  She had an incredibly tough start to life at the mercy of Dr Whitney and it isn't surprising that she doesn't trust anyone who was involved in the experiments that were carried out on her as a child.  Some of the scenes with her were heartbreaking and I was close to tears on several occasions.

Overall this was another great installment of the GhostWalkers series & has left me very keen to read the next book.  I'm very curious to see if Flame's theory is correct - I have a strong suspicion that it is but I'll have to read Conspiracy Theory to find out.  If you're a fan of paranormal romance I'd definitely recommend giving this series a try.

At the end of Shadow Game Lily and the GhostWalkers were determined to find the other children that Lily's father Dr Whitney had experimented on to enhance their psychic abilities.  Dahlia is the first of those children that she has managed to track down but after looking at recordings of her training it seems she has a dangerous ability.  Nicolas is sent to find her and let her know that they can help her to live a normal life but when he gets to her he finds she has become the target of deadly assassins.  He manages to save her from their first attack but her friend has been taken hostage and Dahlia is determined to save him.  She is going to need the help of Nicolas and the other GhostWalkers to rescue her friend and find out who is behind the plot to take her life.

I really enjoyed the first book in this series and Mind Game didn't disappoint.  I find the idea of an experiment to increase psychic abilities really interesting and love finding out about the different powers that the GhostWalkers have.  Dahlia has a very unusual and dangerous talent which allows her to do amazing things but it comes at a very high cost to her.  Constantly absorbing energy from her surroundings and the feelings of others she is easily overwhelmed and when that happens things become explosive, with Dahlia often setting fire to anything around her.  Unable to control her powers she is a danger to anyone around her but Nicolas is willing to take the risk to be with her.

Dahlia has been through a lot since she was experimented on as a child, she has had no one she could rely on and has never allowed anyone to get close to her.  Her dream of having a family has always seemed an unrealistic one and she has been forced to spend most of her time alone to avoid the affect that other people's emotions have on her.  Nicolas is the most cold and aloof of the GhostWalkers but Dahlia breaks down his barriers and allows his passionate side to come to the front.  It takes a while for Dahlia to allow Nicolas in but it's well worth the wait and the heat between them is literally explosive!

I enjoyed seeing more of the camaraderie between the GhostWalkers and it was sweet watching them welcome Dahlia into their family.  We've been introduced to some more interesting characters who I'm hoping we'll see more of in future books and I'm looking forward to finding out more about the individual GhostWalker's psychic abilities.  This series has a little of everything - action and danger, psychic abilities and a lot of hot romance - and I can't wait to get my hands on the next book!

When Captain Ryland Miller and his elite team signed up to take part in Dr Peter Whitney's experiement they were told that they would have their natural psychic abilities enhanced making them a powerful asset to the military.  As their powers begin to grow it soon becomes clear that something has gone very wrong.  Seperated from each other and locked in cages the men start dying - Ryland has a feeling that their deaths aren't an accident and that he could be the next on their enemies list.  Feeling responsible for his team Ryland is determined to get them out but he doesn't know who he can trust.

When Dr Whitney asks Lily to help him she agrees but when he goes missing shortly after bringing her on board she is thrown in the deep end trying to figure out exactly what her father was involved in.  There is an instant attraction between Lily and Ryland but it is more important that they find a way to help his team and discover who is behind the deaths and Dr Whitney's disappearance.

Shadow Games is the first book I've read by Christine Feehan - I'd heard a lot of great things about her Carpathians Dark series but when I spotted this in the library I thought I'd give it a try.  I'm really pleased I picked it up & will definitely be reading more books by this author.  This was very different to anything I've read before but I really loved the GhostWalkers (Ryland's team) and found it interesting looking at the idea of enhancing psychic abilities for the use of the military. 

Ryland is a great hero - loyal to his team and determined to save them he is also incredibly sexy and not afraid of his feelings for Lily, he knows what he wants and will do whatever it takes to make it happen.  Lily is intelligent and beautiful but also shy and somewhat naive - the feelings she has for Ryland are all new to her and she worries about her inexperience.  With Ryland's help it doesn't take long for her passionate side to come to the surface which leads to some very erotic scenes between them.

Although I would class this as a paranormal romance there was also a lot of action and some great twists in the storyline.  Not only do Lily and Ryland have to try and discover who is trying to sabotage their team but Lily also has to find a way to help the men deal with their new psychic powers so that they have a chance at living a normal life.  We don't get to know the rest of the team well but from the glimpses of them that we've seen I'm really looking forward to reading their stories.  I will definitely be reading the rest of this series and I'm looking forward to trying some of Christine's other books too.  I'd recommend this to paranormal romance or urban fantasty fans who enjoy a story with plenty of hot sex scenes along with an action packed story line about hunky military men.  What more can a girl ask for?
