It's Monday, What are you Reading? (8)

This meme was started at J. Kaye's Book Blog but has now moved to One Person's Journey Through a World of Books run by Sheila.

Books read last week:
  1. The Devil Inside - Jenna Black
  2. Romancing the Dead - Tate Hallaway
  3. Hearts in Darkness - Keri Arthur
  4. Shades of Midnight - Lara Adrian
  5. Rogue - Rachel Vincent
  6. Pride - Rachel Vincent
What I'm reading now:

What I'll be reading next:

I didn't set reading goals last week and actually found myself more relaxed about things and getting more reading done so I'm going to stick with it for now and not set goals for this week either.

Challenge updates:

Contests won:
  1. I won a signed copy of The Dark Divine by Bree Despain from Heather at Gofita's Pages - I'm really looking forward to reading this one!
  2. I also won a signed copy of Defeat the Darkness by Alexis Morgan from DemonLover's Book Reviews.  This is actually book 6 in a series that I've had my eyes on for a while now so it gives me a good excuse to buy the other books as I can't bring myself to read book 6 when I've not read the first 5 LOL.
What are you reading?

  3. You got a lot read last week! I found that I'm better if I don't set targets, this week I've took a 'not sure but maybe some of these' approach

  7. @ Jessilyn - I read Lovely Bones a few years ago & enjoyed it. Hope you enjoy Prey!

@ Jo - I enjoyed the plot The Devil Inside but some of the S&M scenes made me feel a bit uncomfortable - I'd have liked it better without them. I already have The Devil You Know from the library though so I'm going to try that one before I make up my mind on the series. I'd love to know what you think of them though.

@ Rhiana - I surprised myself this week LOL! I think I might follow you & go with possible book suggestions for next week :o)

@ Cat - Thanks :o) Hope you have a great week too!

@ Natalie - I think I need to sign up for challenges that take me out of my comfort zone & get me reading things I wouldn't normally pick up. I'll probably have a look at that next year LOL. You've still got plenty of time to do yours though - good luck!

@ Juju - thanks :o) I'm really looking forward to reading it!

  8. I'm currently reading Beautiful Creatures and I've actually had to drag myself away from the book so I could do my regular Monday post. I love that book.

Congrats on your wins this week!

    Have a great reading week!

  9. It's been awhile (several months, at least) since I read the first couple, so I'd kinda forgotten about that. That's the kinda thing I skip in books. Keri Arthur's books have some of that too, right? Or at least her Riley Jenson series does. I haven't read any of the other series she writes.

  13. @ Stephanie - I've heard great things about Beautiful Creatures - that is definitely on my must read list :o) Glad you're enjoying it!

@ Jo - I don't mind it so much if it seems to be a valid part of the story but it didn't seem to serve any purpose in this book. I've been told that the rest of the series have less of that in though so I'm hoping I'll like them better :o)

I've not actually read Keri Arthur's Riley Jenson series, although it is one I'm planning on reading. The books I've read have been from her Nikki & Michael series & there was nothing like that in there so far - that has been one of the best series I've read recently so I'd recommend it!

@ Darlyn - Thanks :o) Hope you have a great week!

@ Chrissie - I surprised myself this week LOL, hope you have a great week too :o)

@ Ruth - I'm about halfway through Pride now & I'm loving this series! Although I have to say this has been the first book in a long time that has actually made me cry!!! Hope you're enjoying Shift :o)
