In My Mailbox (12)

Thanks to Kristi at The Story Siren for hosting In My Mailbox every week.

Books Purchased:
I managed to stick to my book buying ban this week so I'm feeling really pleased with myself.  For once Ant actually brought a book when I didn't - you'd understand how shocking that is if you actually knew how little Ant reads!  He discovered that the book he chose last week (The Day of the Jack Russell) was actually the 2nd book in the series so he had to pick up book 1 - Mystery Man by Bateman.

Library Finds:
I was trying to make sure I took all my library books back before we went on holiday (we go next weekend yay!) but 4 of the books I had on order came in this week & when I went to collect them I ended up spotting another 4 that I just couldn't resist.  I've not read anything by Christine Feehan before but I've heard so many great things about her books that I've been wanting to try them out for ages.  They finally had the first 2 books in her Ghost Walkers series.  I've not read anything by Colleen Gleason either but the covers caught my eye & they sound great so I had to pick them up too LOL.  They don't have to be back until after we get home so I'll probably take some of them with me (we're staying in the UK so there is no risk of lost luggage) the rest I can read when we get home.
  1. Generation Dead - Daniel Waters
  2. Kiss the Night Goodbye - Keri Arthur
  3. Circle of Fire - Keri Arthur
  4. Beneath a Rising Moon - Keri Arthur
  5. Shadow Game - Christine Feehan
  6. Mind Game - Christine Feehan
  7. The Rest Falls Away - Colleen Gleason
  8. Rises the Night - Colleen Gleason
For Review:
  1. The Prophecy - Gill James (Thanks to publisher Red Telephone Books for sending me this)
  2. The Chosen One - Carol Lynch Williams (Thanks to Simon & Schuster UK for sending me this)
  3. Viola in Reel Life - Adriana Trigiani (Thanks to Simon & Schuster UK for sending me this)

What was in your mailbox this week?

  3. Sarah, it is great to see you keeping your local library in business. Did you know that authors can earn up to £6000 from public lending rights from libraries. Cool, huh!

The Chosen One has a really interesting premise. I'm looking forward to reviewing it. Enjoy!

  4. Yay for the library! That's great that you found so many books in one visit! Book buying bans are not fun, so it's wonderful that your library is so well stocked. Have a great reading week :-)

  6. I really need to get to my local library. In my mailbox this week I received the Night Huntress series books 1-4 by Jeaniene Frost. Also, a co-worker friend of mine dropped off The Vampire and the Virgin by Kerrelyn Sparks at my desk for me to read.
    Happy week, Sarah!

  9. @ Shantal - The Prophecy has a really pretty cover :o) I'm looking forward to reading it. Hope you have a great week!

@ Rhiana - I'm looking forward to both of those. I'm planning on reading The Prophecy this week, I'll wait until nearer the release date for The Chosen One but it looks fab!

@ Becky - I didn't realise that the authors can earn that much from libraries - that is fab :o) I can't afford to buy all the books I want to read but now I don't need to feel guilty about not buying LOL. I'm lucky that my library has such a good selection & I can order books from any Kent library for just 25p so I've been getting quite a few books that way :o)

@ Serpentine Librarian - I love my library LOL. They have a huge selection & ordering is easy too :o) Makes buying bans easier to stick to when you have the whole library to choose from.

@ Nina - You should see if you can order books too - I go online & it's really easy to order. Then they email me when the books are ready to collect :o) Hope you have a fab week!

@ Mar - You got some great books this week! I really want to read the Night Huntress series & I've heard great things about Kerrelyn Sparks. I hope you enjoy them all :o)

@ Leah - Thanks, I'm looking forward to both of them :o) Hope you have a fab week.

@ Dwayne - I'm not usually too good at sticking to my buying ban but it's my birthday soon which will give me a good excuse to buy books LOL. I recieved Kiss of Life for review but hadn't read Generation Dead so wanted to get that one first. I'm actually reading it now & really enjoying it so far. Have a fab week!

@ I Want To Read That - The Chosen One looks fab doesn't it! I really love Keri Arthur :o) I've tried 2 of her series - the Nikki & Michael vampire series & the spook squad and they are both great. I've ordered the first books from all her other series from the library & they've finally started coming through lol. Can't wait to try these out :o)

  16. Hi Jennifer, I've not read anything by Adriana Trigiani before but Viola looks like a fun read :o) I think it's her first YA book so if I like it I'll have to try some of her adult books! Thanks so much for the award :o)

  17. I got Viola and The Chosen One! I'm having a 3 day catch up read next week, so hopefully I might get nearer to them in the pile...

  18. They both look great don't they :o) Looking forward to reading them both but I'm going to try to wait until a little nearer to the release dates before I read them. I hope you enjoy them both & good luck with your catch up (I don't think I'll ever manage to reduce my TBR pile LOL)

  19. I'm looking forward to the catch up. I don't think I'll actually get to the bottom of my TBR pile....but at least I might make a dent. Even a small dent counts.
