Cover Reveal - Bloodlines by Richelle Mead

So back in June you may have seen the post I wrote comparing the UK and the US versions of the cover for Bloodlines by Richelle Mead.  I have just had news from Razorbill UK confirming that they are no longer using the cover I included in my original post.  They have decided to change to the US cover to give the series a global look.

I have to admit I'm a little disappointed because I loved the original UK cover but I do still like the new version and so excited about the book that I would read it even if the cover was just plain black lol.  I do think it will be nice to have a series with matching covers across the world and I really like how Sydney looks on the cover.  I'm very curious to find out who that is standing next to her though!

So without further ado here is the final version of the UK cover for Bloodlines:

What do you think?  Although it isn't my first choice it is still a stunning cover & I can't wait to see it in the flesh.  I literally can not wait to get my hands on this book!

  1. I must admit that I prefer this copy to the old UK one. I like the way that it sort of mirrors the Vampire Academy covers. He's certainly got his eye on her!

  2. I like the US cover more after seeing the UK cover. The old cover reminded me of Ed Hardy. Of course the drawback of having models on the cover is that it influences our perception of the characters. I already worry that I won't like Sydney in this one because of the scowl she seems to be wearing on the cover!

I am pretty sure the guy on the cover is Adrian and I have a feeling he will be Sydney's love interest in this series.

  3. @ Essjay - I see what you mean about this matching the VA covers more but I still think I prefer what was originally going to be the UK cover just because it was so different. I don't dislike this one though & if I'd never seen the other version I'd proabably have been very happy with this one lol.

@ Christina - You're right that having models on the cover influences how we see them. I don't think they've done too badly with the models for this one but Sydney is definitely scowling in this lol.
