Fairyloot Unboxing - August 2017 "Otherworlds"

FairyLoot August Box "Otherworlds"

This was my fourth FairyLoot box and it was probably one of my favourites, there were just so many gorgeous items in there! I spent a lot of time researching boxes before I decided which one to sign up for and I'm so glad I picked FairyLoot, their boxes are consistently fabulous and I've enjoyed all of the books I've received so far which is a huge sticking point for me. From the hints on Instagram I think September's box is going to be bigger and better than ever so I'm definitely looking forward to receiving it!

I deliberately wait until the FairyLoot photo challenge starts before posting my unboxing because I'd hate to spoiler anyone so as always reading beyond this point will show you everything that was included. Look away now if you don't want spoilers!

The first item I found in my box was this gorgeous Witchsoul candle from Book & Nook, I've been following their shop on Instagram for a long time now so I'm thrilled to finally own one of their candles. There were 5 different versions included in the boxes and I received Anais which has a delicious fruity smell to it, I keep opening the tin just so I can sniff it and the fact that it has added sparkles just makes it even better. Candles are one of my favourite items in subscription boxes, mainly because it can be so expensive to buy candles from individual sellers, so this was definitely one of my favourite items in the box!

The next item was this sleep mask with the quote "Fictional worlds fuel my dreams" which is nice. I have to admit I've never used a sleeping mask so I wasn't that excited by this item but I am going on holiday soon and we've got a night flight so I'm planning on taking it with me in the hope it will help me get some sleep in. Perhaps I'll discover that I love sleep masks after all.

This necklace from Oh Panda Eyes is beautiful so I'm a little bit heartbroken that it's from the one fandom that I really passionately hate. I knew there was going to be an ACOMAF inspired item in the box so I was prepared to dislike one of the items but I'm gutted that it was something that I would have absolutely loved it had included a quote from literally ANY other book! I'm well aware that I'm in the minority with my hatred of ACOMAF though and that's totally down to personal taste and no fault of FairyLoot or Oh Panda Eyes! Luckily my loss will be someone else's gain as I intend to do a giveaway for this on Instagram soon :o)

I don't even drink tea but I think this Game of Thrones inspired Westeros sword shaped tea strainer is ridiculously cute. I've actually wanted to try the Warriors and Legends tea that was included in the May FairyLoot box but I didn't have a way to prepare loose tea so I'm going to give this a try sometime soon. Perhaps I'll become a loose tea convert :o)

I am totally in love with this gorgeous Neverland inspired notebook designed by TJ Lubrano. The design and colours are just stunning and I love the quote that is on the cover. The little touches like the extra quote inside and the map of Neverland just make it an even nicer item. I hate to write in special notebooks like this because I don't want to ruin them so I think I'll find a space for this on my fairytales shelf next to my copy of Peter Pan.

Another of my favourite items in the box was this adorable set of magnetic bookmarks from Paperly and Co. This was inspired by Lord of the Rings and there were 3 different sets included in the boxes. I was lucky enough to receive 2 of my favourite characters Aragorn and Arwen and I think they're ridiculously cute! I can't wait to use these :o)

Also included was this stunning Northern Lights inspired print by Melissa Nettleship, I'm a HUGE Philip Pullman fan so was really excited to find this in my box. The colours are just so pretty and I'm definitely going to be using this as a prop for pictures when my copy of The Book of Dust arrives. We also received samplers of Godsgrave by Jay Kristoff and Blackwing by Ed McDonald, both books that I've already read and can definitely recommend.

The final item is always the book of the month and in this case it was Wicked Like A Wildfire by Lana Popovic. I actually make sure I figure out what the book will be each month before my subscription renews, partly because I'm on a tight budget and can't afford to buy a book twice but equally because it's the most valuable item in the box and unless I know it's a book I'm interested in reading I just can't justify the cost of the subscription. Luckily FairyLoot always pick books I'm already excited about so that has never been an issue and I can't wait to read this one. I love that we get a letter from the author and a signed bookplate included in the box. My signed bookplate was actually missing this month but I contacted FairyLoot and they were brilliant about it and as you can see from the picture they arranged for one to be sent right out to me.

Here's a final picture showing all of the items together, like I said at the beginning I was really impressed with this box. Aside from the book I think my favourite items would have to be the candle and the bookmarks but I love pretty much everything and the box seemed to have a lot of items this month. Thanks again to FairyLoot for another fabulous box!
