Review: End of Days - Susan Ee

End of Days is the explosive conclusion to Susan Ee's bestselling Penryn & the End of Days trilogy.

After a daring escape from the angels, Penryn and Raffe are on the run. They're both desperate to find a doctor who can reverse the twisted changes inflicted by the angels on Raffe and Penryn's sister. As they set off in search of answers, a startling revelation about Raffe's past unleashes dark forces that threaten them all.

When the angels release an apocalyptic nightmare onto humans, both sides are set on a path toward war. As unlikely alliances form and strategies shift, who will emerge victorious? Forced to pick sides in the fight for control of the earthly realm, Raffe and Penryn must choose: Their own kind, or each other?

Review:
I've been waiting nearly 2 years for the final book in this trilogy so to say End of Days was my most anticipated read of 2015 is an understatement. Angelfall and World After are both two of my favourite books so I was actually kind of terrified going into this, I was so scared that Susan Ee wouldn't be able to live up to my very high expectations and that I'd end up feeling disappointed. I'm very happy to report that I couldn't have been more wrong and the series goes out with a bang. I actually think this is the first time that I've rated every single book in a trilogy 5 stars, that's how good it is!

This isn't going to be an easy book to review, not because it isn't amazing but because I would absolutely hate to give spoilers to anyone who hasn't read it yet. I'm going to keep this deliberately vague but I will promise you that if you enjoyed the first two books you're going to love this this one. Penryn is one of the best heroines I've come across in a long time and I'm absolutely head over heels for Raffe too.

End of Days picks up seconds after the end of World After and the intensity is high from the very first page. There is non stop action and swoon worthy romance, you'll find yourself heartbroken and in tears one minute and cheering Penryn and her allies on the next. It was everything I could have possibly hoped for and some things that I would never have dared to dream of. In short this trilogy is epic, it's a series I can't recommend highly enough and it's catapulted Susan Ee to the top of my favourite author's list. I have no idea what she will be writing next but I do know it's already at the top of my wish list. Now I'm off to go and reread End of Days because I know I'm going to find even more to love about it the second time around!

If you haven't started this trilogy yet, or if you just haven't finished it then drop whatever else you're reading immediately and dive into this world - you won't regret it!

  1. I've been waiting for this one for a while as well. Only glanced at your review long enough to get a feel how good the book was, need to make this one a priority I think!

    1. It's been such a long war hasn't it!!! Definitely a worthy end to the trilogy even though I'm sad that it's over :-)
