2020 Contemporary Romance Challenge #ContRom2020

The Contemporary Romance Reading Challenge was created by The Book Vixen and was hosted by Gone with the Words and Love at First Page in 2016. It's been run by Andi's ABCS since 2017. If you'd like to join me taking part in this years challenge you can find the sign up page HERE

I still seem to be binging on my main love of paranormal romance and urban fantasy at the moment but I do enjoy contemporary romance so although I'm reading a bit less I'd like to carry on keeping track of it.

2010 - I read 16 contemporary romance stories
2011 - I read 5 contemporary romance stories
2012 - I read 71 contemporary romance stories
2013 - I read 116 contemporary romance stories
2014 - I read 94 contemporary romance stories
2015 - I read 51 contemporary romance stories
2016 - I read 22 contemporary romance stories
2017 - I read 29 contemporary romance stories
2018 - I read 36 contemporary romance stories
2019 - I read 38 contemporary romance stories

I'm going to set my goal for 2020 at 20 books so that I'm not putting myself under too much pressure.

2020 Urban Fantasy & Paranormal Romance Reading Challenge

For several years I took part in the various forms of paranormal challenges hosted by Carolyn from Book Chick City. She no longer hosts these challenges but I love to keep track of the books I read so I'm just going to keep a running list here. 2020 New Author Challenge

This is my ninth year taking part in the New Author Challenge originally hosted by Literary Escapism.  I've not found a replacement since they stopped posting the challenge so I'm just creating this thread to keep a track for myself of the new authors I read this year.

As much as I have many favourite authors on my auto buy list I still love to discover new authors.  This is also great to discover both brand new and well known authors that I haven't got around to trying yet.

If you'd like to join me and take part in the challenge you can sign up here.

2010 - I tried 104 new authors
2011 - I tried 115 new authors
2012 - I tried 130 new authors
2013 - I tried 96 new authors
2014 - I tried 51 new authors
2015 - I tried 54 new authors
2016 - I tried 45 new authors
2017 - I tried 46 new authors
2018 - I tried 41 new authors
2019 - I tried 38 new authors

Here are the new authors I've tried so far this year:

1. The Great Witches Baking Show - Nancy Warren
2. The Venus School - Golden Angel
3. Gaming Grace - Piper J. Drake
4. Attracting Aubrey - Avery Flynn
5. Loving Liv - Stacey Kennedy

2020 British Books Challenge

In 2011 the British Books Challenge was created by Becky at The Bookette, in 2012 it was Kirsty at The Overflowing Library's turn to run the challenge & she also hosted in 2016, I hosted it myself in 2013 and 2014, Michelle at Fluttering Butterflies took a turn in 2015 and Chelley from Tales of Yesterday hosted from 2017 to 2018.

It doesn't seem like anyone is hosting this challenge anymore but if I spot a sign up page then I'll definitely take part officially and I'll update this post for anyone who wants to join me. In the meantime I'm just going to use this page to track the books I read since I enjoy seeing how many books I read in different categories.

2011 - I read 58 books by British authors
2012 - I read 41 books by British authors
2013 - I read 39 books by British authors
2014 - I read 55 books by British authors
2015 - I read 51 books by British authors
2016 - I read 40 books by British authors
2017 - I read 45 books by British authors
2018 - I read 35 books by British authors
2019 - I read 21 books by British authors

I think I'm just going to keep my reduced goal of 20 books for the challenge this year, I love supporting British authors but a lot of the series I'm currently trying to catch up on are written by American authors. It doesn't help that I'm reading far less YA recently so I think I really need to look into some more adult paranormal books by British authors, if you have any recommendations please let me know!

I will keep a list of books read along with links to my reviews in this post.

1. The Great Witches Baking Show - Nancy Warren
2. Twilight Seeker - Pippa DaCosta
3. Spellswept - Stephanie Burgis (Novella)
4. Thornbound - Stephanie Burgis
5. Moontangled - Stephanie Burgis (Novella)
6. Kiss of Vengeance - S. Young
7. Baker's Coven - Nancy Warren
8. Primal Sin - Ariana Nash
