July 2012 Recap (I'm still moving!)

I figured now was the perfect time for a quick update on my moving situation. I was hoping to be in the new house and unpacked by now but there have been a few delays thanks to typical builders schedules! The landlord needed to fix some problems in the kitchen of the new house and he wanted to have a full electrical check carried out because the previous tenant had done a lot of work in there (I'm glad to have a professional check things out so I don't end up electrocuting myself LOL). Anyway, the work was finally completed yesterday so the move will be going ahead next week (I'm away visiting the lovely Kirsty from The Overflowing Library this weekend!).

The good news is that the delay has given me plenty of time to get my broadband installed so I'll be online as soon as I get in there! I've also managed to complete 80% of the move already so it shouldn't actually take too long to get the last of my things moved across next week. Then the mammoth task of unpacking begins!

A sneaky peek at some of my new bookcases

I can tell you one thing though - we have turned the spare bedroom into a mini library, complete with 7 new massive book cases (thanks Ikea!) that I can't wait to start filling. I'll post more pictures as soon as I get it organised in there :o) I now have some mad hammer skills and am an expert bookcase builder if anyone needs any help LOL.

Anyway, I hope you're all having a fab Summer and enjoying the Olympics! Go Team GB!!!! In case you haven't guessed I've been getting a little over excited :o)

      July Books of the Month:
(Choices are made from books reviewed this month and the links will take you to my reviews)

My top YA read in July:

Losing Lila by Sarah Alderson (read my review here)

My top adult reads in July:
I had real trouble picking my favourites this month - I have read some absolutely fantastic adult books so these are my top choices:

Slave and Need by Sherri Hayes (read my reviews here)
The Lucky Harbor series by Jill Shalvis (read my reviews here)
The Siren by Tiffany Reisz (read my review here)
        Challenge Updates:

These are the 2012 challenges I'm taking part in, I'll update my progress every month but so far so good!

        2012 Debut Author Challenge - Read 33/50
2012 Sookie Stackhouse Read-A-Long - Read 2/12 - I have decided to quit this challenge, I didn't enjoy either of the first 2 books so it seems silly to force myself to carry on reading them!
