June 2012 Recap & a Quick Housing Update!

I thought it would be good to start this post with a quick update. A lot of you already know about my ongoing housing saga since the sewage leak I had in September 2011. For those who missed the drama it's a long story but basically I've spent the last 10 months living in temporary accommodation because the house I rent has no usable kitchen and is still full of sewage. The landlord's insurance company is STILL dragging their heels and haven't started work to fix my house so I've been stuck in a flat with no internet access and no TV (which has given me the added bonus of lots of reading time even if I have been suffering with Twitter withdrawal symptoms lol).

Anyway, the saga has been very long and drawn out and has been slowly driving me insane but I have good news. Another house down my road has become available so the landlord has offered me a permanent move to there so I can finally get settled back in and feel at home. It's all happened very quickly so the next few weeks are going to be more than a little manic as I try to move my belongings from both the temporary flat and my old house across to the new one. I'm very excited about the whole thing (and I'll have internet access again in a couple of weeks WOOHOO!!) but I'm not going to be about much while I'm mid move. I've got quite a few posts scheduled so hopefully you won't notice much of a difference here on the blog but it will probably take me longer than usual to reply to comments and emails (that is something I've been very slow with at the moment anyway due to having no internet at home so I can't wait to get everything back to normal after the move!).

My daft kitty Cassie

Even better I can finally have my cat back home with me! Luckily she has been able to stay with my Dad while this whole sorry mess has been going on but I've missed having her at home. She's going to have to learn how to use a cat flap though because every downstairs room in the new house has one. That should save me the trouble of keep getting up to let her in and out of the house lol.

A little sneak peak at my new front room (including handy cat flap!)

So I hope you'll keep your fingers crossed that the move goes smoothly and bear with me if you can't get hold of me. I'll be sure to post an update when I've settled in (I'm sure there will be a few pics too!) and I can't wait to be able to spend more time visiting everyone's blogs and have a proper catch up with you all on Twitter!

      Challenge Updates:

These are the 2012 challenges I'm taking part in, I'll update my progress every month but so far so good!

      2012 Debut Author Challenge - Read 29/50
2012 Sookie Stackhouse Read-A-Long - Read 2/12 - I have decided to quit this challenge, I didn't enjoy either of the first 2 books so it seems silly to force myself to carry on reading them!
